  1. Looking into that as well... have an ultra-cheap Motel 6 room 5 miles away as a backup, but not sure I want to go that cheesy. Would be nice to have the convenience of the downtown activities instead of being isolated at the No-Name Motel, but may decide to stay near the airport in something a bit nicer than Motel 6 instead. Trade-off is either to share and be close-in for $85/each per night, or to get my own room farther out for about the same nightly rate (assuming I upgrade from Motel 6). Linda
  2. The Marriott downtown is the designated Scouts headquarters. http://news.madisonscouts.org/?p=198 P.S. I have a room there and would like to cut costs by sharing - PM me if interested!
  3. Or for the guard, replace B with S for Spin. SYBO!!! GO SCOUTS!!!!!
  4. Section 440, Row 1 has 18 seats. The total number of seats per row does vary a bit, depending on which row and which section. Seems most vary between 18-22. Call the Lucas Oil Stadium ticket office to confirm your seat location - they'll be happy to help.
  5. Seems there IS something new to report: With this score, it seems they have the #15 spot for quarters, which means fans will get to see them in the movie theaters next week. Wondering if they will be scheduling quarters in blocks of 3 like last year? If so, then Scouts will be in same block as last year, since they were in 13th going in to quarters if I remember correctly. Not all bad... if they can do some serious cleaning, they may be able to make a move. Doesn't seem this story is over until the Fat Lady sings! GO SCOUTS!!!!!
  6. More likely it's BK: markhartman010 via Twitter: BK Brass Staff and Hornline in the park
  7. Wondering if any Madison Moms would like to share a room at the Downtown Marriott (Scouts Headquarters) for Finals Week to cut costs. Would rather stay there than the budget hotel (aka Motel 6) 5 miles away. DM me if interested - I already have a room reserved at the Marriott. Thanks! Linda
  8. Via umassdrumline on Twitter: VERY impressive show from @madisoncorps and Relampago! Old school and aggressive. Tore my face off
  9. Report from Salem show via Twitter: "That's the best I've seen Madison Scouts in a long time. Really impressive." (via spacefreak) " I <3 the Madison Scouts." (via kaytness) GO SCOUTS!!!!!

  11. I think the robes are effective in giving that "creepy" voodoo feeling that they intended, but dropping that aspect entirely after the first part of the opener doesn't make sense. If they are really exploring the voodoo/witch doctor's role in creating the superhero and how the superhero ultimately defies her and turns to good, then keeping the voodoo aspect present throughout the show in some form would make the theme more cohesive. I know that the flags are supposed to represent good/evil with the light/dark snakes, but having the whole guard in the same superhero unis makes it hard to differentiate. Wondering if they already have something up their sleeves to fix this, and if this new character performer will be part of the solution.
  12. The DCI housing bureau still has rooms available downtown, but it looks like the room blocks will be released tomorrow (7/23). This is a lot cheaper than the hotels current advertised rates as well as the discount sites, if you can even find a room from Thursday - Saturday. Could be that more rooms will show up closer to finals week as people cancel extra rooms they booked. If you want a specific hotel blocked by DCI that isn't currently showing as available, call or email the DCI housing bureau and ask to be notified of any cancellations.
  13. Robes are supposed to represent a voodoo/shaman/underworld figure according to the San Antonio commentary. The story is that the "regular guy" who was a petty thief was revived by a Shaman and given superpowers by her, which she had him use for her benefit to start, and then he later decided to use the powers for good instead. IMO, the robes represent the voodoo/shaman/underworld concept pretty well.
  14. The Scouts will be well fed and well taken care of this upcoming week in Murray KY, courtesy of Bill L. and friends. If you haven't already sent Bill L. a small contribution to help with the feast, you may want to consider helping out. You can PM him for details, or visit the Feast's Facebook page.
  15. If you are associated with the Scouts in any way, whether as an Alum, Parent, Volunteer, Prior Year Staff Member or Fan, please read this: We are working on cleaning up and updating the Scouts database on CorpsData, and we need your help to make this happen. If you haven't logged on to CorpsData recently, please do so and correct any information that may be outdated, and please make sure that you have entered a mailing address, email address and a phone number that you can be contacted at. CorpsData is the Scouts primary database for all types of communications and updates, so it's important that we have current data on this system. If you need help with this, or if you aren't already on CorpsData, please PM me. Thank you! Linda
  16. Open two browser windows, or Windows Media Player and a browser window, and reduce the volume of the commentary so it doesn't overpower the music in the other window. The commentary is loud enough that you won't hear the music from that screen if you mute it down. That way you can have the best of both worlds!
  17. Wow... this comment truly amazes me. Are we forgetting that the 2009 Scouts are PEOPLE and not robots? Most people do appreciate inspirational comments, no matter where they happen to place on some scoreboard. And I'm sure the 2009 Scouts greatly appreciate the additional support they are getting from the alums this year, whether from inspirational comments, sponsoring pizza dinners, paying their alumni dues, volunteering their time, or just plain being there to show their support. I'm sure nobody expects the Scouts to actually eat glass, but the comment does fit right in with the current Superhero theme, and thus was spot on. The only thing he forgot to mention was leaping tall buildings with a single bound. Keep it up, guys!
  18. YAY!!! Thanks for helping out! I'm sure the Scouts and the other volunteers will appreciate more helping hands.
  19. Gamer2424: The Madison Scouts were AMAZING gjramsey: #dci crowd is loving what Mad is serving GO SCOUTS!!!!! P.S. Scouts fans can see twitpics from Chris K by following @madisoncorps or check out http://www.facebook.com/chriskomnick
  20. Seems the same tune as last year... lots of griping and rehashing which years had the best management team. Like others have stated, it would be great if people would get out from behind their computers and help to make the Scouts better by volunteering or other activities that would help out your younger brothers this season. We still need volunteers for various locations through the end of tour, including people to travel with the Scouts and people to help out at or near their hometowns, or when they will be in town for a show for a day or two. Some have also stepped up to sponsor a special meal, like a pizza or pasta dinner, to break up the routine, so anything along that line would be appreciated as well. You can find where the Scouts will be staying on the volunteer website: Scouts Housing Sites. Please take a look and see where you can help - we especially need help with the cook crew in various locations. Thank you! GO SCOUTS!!!
  21. They were 13th last year at San Antonio behind Crossmen, and ended up in 12th for finals. None of the scores in this grouping vying for that 12th spot are higher or even equal to last years scores at this time, so I think that anything is possible at this point. GO SCOUTS!!!
  22. On a more positive note... There's a new video up on the Fan Network: http://v2.thefannetwork.org/?network_id=1&...&mode=viral GO SCOUTS!!!
  23. JimBurnell is also updating: SCV show was nice but needs oomph. Hoping to catch BD's big change. http://yfrog.com/abfr6j
