  1. I could definitely see a staff member being excited about beating a corps they worked with. To me it just shows that you may have learned from some great teachers or had educational experiences and are now able to use those to make another organization better. The feeling of revenge just hapens with some people because maybe they didn't have such great feelings about who they worked with in the past, or maybe were not used to their full capacity. So, now they are able to make another corps successful. Just a thought
  2. "I'm thinking about Crown defeating Phantom in guard. I have no insight as to why the current Crown guard designer left PR several years ago, but I'm sure the win in San Antonio was sweet, especially if it keeps up..." "I'm thinking about Crown defeating Phantom in guard." - This is what the OP is referring to. "but I'm sure the win in San Antonio was sweet, especially if it keeps up..." - This is also referring to the "victory" of placing higher in that single caption. Win meaning first place is your own opinion. OP said they "won" in the guard caption. Please learn how to comprehend the English language if you are going to get into an argument. It's as simple as that. I'm walking away from this pointless argument now.
  3. No one said crown beat BD, the only two corps being referred to are Crown and Phantom.
  4. Great job this weekend Brigs! Can't wait to get back to work next week! 1-2-3
  5. Great job to everyone at the show this weekend!
  6. Actually, Crown did beat Phantom in guard and overall. He was referring to a single caption at the San Antonio show.
  7. Sadly I will not be at the next camp , so have a great weekend everyone! I had a blast this past weekend, the corps sounded amazing!
  8. I completely agree with you that there is a lack of respect between younger and older members involved in DCA. The same thing can be said about many other activities in this world, newer generations don't take the time to fully understand the beginings of the activity. Hopefully we can stay Drum Corps and not push the bounderies so far that it becomes something else completely.
  9. We have the same jackets at Brigs. I love them! there is a ton of pocket space and they dry after being completely soaked in about 20ish minutes!
  10. The DCA rules booklet does say that innovation is among the realm of what is being judged. If we get into the cycle of playing the same tunes over and over again, then I think we'll get trapped into an activity that won't evolve and new people will not feel encouraged to join. DCA follows in the footseps of DCI because that is who we have coming into the age to march in the senior circuit. Don't get me wrong, there are a few convoluted shows out there that have left me thinking. But, I do think that if we want our activity to continue its growth in membership that we should begin to think outside of the traditional box and become more innovative. Just a thought! =)
  11. It's going to be a great show! the hornline sounds great and the book is infectious!! Bring all your friends and family.
