hmm. In my three previous summers with the Bluecoats, I never heard those used as our six words (referring to the Bluecoats website).

I think he was joking around. I mean, we definitely do the same to ourselves. Obviously we'd like to move up, but as of now I have no issues with him or anyone else saying that. The season hasn't even started! To answer the OP, yeah we do have traditions. A good amount of em. They just aren't as prevalent as things like SUTA, SPLOOIE or the BD incense.

Seems to be a good deal of tradition in people getting that wrong. womp womp

Thats cool. Maybe its just one of those things that they do to "blow off steam" as some would say. I just think its hilarious.

Smart kids! I've dated a few girls in varying positions on this spectrum, though I've only ever had one girlfriend while on tour. That was my rookie year, and I regret spending most of my free time trying to talk to her. It kept me from getting to know my corps mates as well as I would have liked. She was a dancer in high school, but was never in band or anything like it, but she respected my decision to march (I found out that I was going on tour basically 2 weeks before Spring Training, if I remember correctly) She didn't go to any shows, but she came to see me at a rehearsal here in Denton. I've also dated others who tolerated my love of the activity, or even enjoyed it a little, but none have ever really come close to my level of involvement or "fanaticism" with corps. Here's to hoping for a corps savvy girl in my future! So, all in all, I just didn't vote.

I would love a shirt sayin "Curtis Tomlinson is my hero" I wonder if he knows about DCP... or what he would think if he showed up to Indy to find a bunch of people with his name on their shirts. Talk about a mind game.

I can't even be serious saying that BD will finish out of the top 3. They are just too good at this!

The Blue corps will occupy 4 of the top five spots, but will not win any captions.

I'm not trying to contradict you, but that type of stuff happens a lot. I think the Blue Stars will come out on top of Phantom, but your reason isn't why I believe that. The Blue Stars have incredible music, and they are certainly playing it well at a stand still. That said, Phantom sounds pretty good too, but I just don't like their clips that they've put online as much as the BS clips. We'll see.

I just wouldn't want to perform Autumn Leaves for the championship corps. I love playing it for fans, family and friends, but I just don't think I would feel right playing it for, lets say, the Blue Devils. I worded my previous post poorly I guess.

I would NOT want to play my corps song for another corps. Maybe a clip of the show, but never Autumn Leaves. It's not for them. It's for the Bluecoats.

I just watched the 99 show for the first time. I can't believe it's taken me this long to see it! But I have to say that there were way more "wow" moments with the 99 guard than the 09 guard. I just like the 99 show much better in general. Much more entertaining.

I loved that performance! And I really do love this piece of music. I hope the Blue Devils do play it, because it's a lot of fun to listen to. As has been stated before: We shall see.
