Obviously not a Bass Drummer but... I play hockey and from what you described sounds like a sports hernia and they are very common for people who play sports where they twist and turn quickly. I wouldnt say that where the drum rests had a whole lot to do w/ it but it wouldnt help it. most people think they've pulled a groin when it turns out to be a sports hernia. If you do indoor i wouldnt be suprised if that started the issue. along w/ normal marching outdoors w/ quick drill.

Does it #### anyone else off that almost everyone is charging a registration fee as well as 10 to 20 bucks for audition material now? Or you have to buy a exercise book written by the caption head? Maybe i'm way off base but i find it a little annoying. Im already spending thousands of dollars to march, cant i get the exercises for free???? I understand that the cost of doing this activity is rising but my paycheck is not!!

For me as an instructor its about the quality for the kids. I dont want my students using he-haw 3rd quality guitar center sticks for 12 bucks. I'd rather get them something that the company stands behind. I have sent quite a few pair of sticks back to Vic because they feel almost as if they are broken or just cheap wood. Trying new innovative sticks this season, and bass mallets. Wondering if that fulcrum notch in the mallet will make it easier or a more natural stroke for some of my younger students.

I think it was bull too.. i was told over the phone, that if i wasnt able to watch Open Class Live at work i would be able to replay it at home. Lucky enough IT didnt catch the Live Stream and shut it off But had they found out and i not been able to watch.. DCI would definitely be giving me a refund. The World Class Live Semi's were pretty good though. Multi cam was much better. Although trying to watch my girlfriend age out and getting cut off immediately was a shame.
