  1. btw, who the hell is trying to takeover for the conductor behind the fence? I hope he knows that he has a piece of paper in his hand and not a baton. (however, I cant say i dont sometimes conduct it at my computer screen )
  2. looks like John C. called it, as of right now you can watch Phantom's Elsa Encore on the FNet. *correction* it looks like its the Allentown encore, not the finals encore
  3. there are no videos of quarterfinals, only audio downloads that you can purchase aside from that, its cool that you have all of the previous finals at your disposal, but unless dci was able to release the vids of this year's finals (if espn would give them back the rights), best to wait until next season just my 2 cents *edit* oh, and yes you can watch the vids from earlier this season (as well as the finals from previous years) as for downloading the vids/mp3's you must purchase them in order to have them accessible on your comp. its about 2-4 dollars depending on what you purchase
  4. heh heh, maybe some pirates of the carribean music they could also throw in williams' sea symphony if were gonna keep up the list of british composers. of course, without the narrations... (now im just giving hoppy some ideas ) i could totally see them doing "storm" from the 4 sea interludes
  5. Lohengrin: Act II, Scene 4, Gesegnet Soll Sie Schreiten (the beginning of the 4th scene) according to my bayreuth album
  6. IMO, dvorak's 7th, beethoven's 9th, or barber's 1st symphony (and maybe even adagio for strings), would be cool musical selections however, i think phantom would be more successful if they continued the same approach of this year's show by incorporating a story into it, so any wagner opera (do i see elsa being performed in the SHOW? ), or ballet show could do (aka, copland, tchaikovsky, etc.) maybe even a dark show, with a theme of death .... Mahler's 9th? just a thought
  7. Ya, one of the saddest things I can remember about my early experiences with drum corps was when I saw the Cadets 2005 show on ESPN. I remember thinking to myself "is this what drum corps really is?" Now looking back on the show it was visually and musically amazing, but there was also those "add-ons" that I felt (and still do) were really unnecessary. Sad to say that my first impression (and idea) of drum corps had to be a negative one.
  8. I would have to agree with you, and I would also mention that this year's show was very demanding, exciting, and inspiring (vesuvius? at that tempo? sheeesh) but once again the voice overs distract from the actual show. Rather than putting the narration in, they should make their show based off of it, kinda how BD based this year's show off of a poem. I'm very hopeful for next year. Perhaps George Hopkins will slacken up for just one year and see how things happen.
