The "Teal Drum Corps" group was a separate group of people hoping to take over out of the ashes of Teal Sound. They had no official connection.

Just saw this on DCI.org! Bill Clark will serve as program coordinator for the Racine Scouts’ 2013 season. "Mr. Clark has an extensive drum corps background and brings a wealth of management and educational expertise to our organization," CEO Dr. Randall Chaffee said. The corps will hold its first rehearsal camp of the year the weekend of January 11 in Cudahy, Wis.

It is my understanding that both are going through a "random" DCI review. Forte had a camp 2 weeks ago and Revolution had one Thanksgiving weekend. I believe that they have both requested a number of shows and will be added to the roster after Dave Edelman visits with them.

From what I understand, Revo WANTED to tour more locally. However, DCI assigns shows. Revo's only opportunity was to go west. DCI wanted them there since the west coast corps always complain, perhaps rightly so, that corps rarely come west of the Rockies while they are always expected to travel.

Comparitively, Forte charges $2000 and has had less than half the number of shows that Revo has.

Seems to me that $2400 is merely commensurate with what other corps charge. Many groups that tour quite a bit less than Revo charge even more. Another detail that I have been told is that Revo's "extra" money was eaten up on first tour when their equipment truck crashed.

Since Music City was not IN the top 5 last year, it is impossible for them to fall OUT of it. However, they have risen fast in their short history...perhaps this year they will be in top 5.

Ahem... regardless... YEAH! Racine will be on the field this year! We will not lose another organization...the LONGEST RUNNING one at that! Go Chrome Domes!

That still puts 14 in the top 12, unless you think Forte could make a spot and that automatically drops Spartans out of the top 12. Also, a few posts before you we heard that Spokane is NOT going to finals. I guess that means you only really have 13 in your top 12.

No...obviously I was questioning the "virtually all" statement. Who is there...who isn't...who is new?

Will there be an announcement about the staff?

Amazing how someone from a parental insider's position accidentally reinforces the point others have been belaboring. There's such balance in nature :)
