  1. It's not the tuition that's shocking or surprising. That's a given that it's expensive, we all know that. It's the point that they make that you have to send in an audition video to even get a call back to come to Madison for a camp evaluation. There's pros and cons for both sides, but I see more cons towards the video call back, in my opinion. Whoever has marched Scouts prior to the 2010 season, what were the tour fees? I'm betting that they did get bumped because of the new staff. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, because I'd love to have a killer staff, too. But I'm just curious if it was raised specifically to pay for the new staff. Anyone who can tell me the facts about that, please do so. I'm very interested.
  2. As a Troop alumni, I am so proud to have marched with these kids that have done such an amazing thing. I am proud to call them my friends and my family. They're amazing kids and I'm so happy that Troop has made it back into finals. I will always proudly display my cross sabers permanently on my skin and in my heart! Fred Morris should be named director of the year, hands down. No questions asked. Taking a year off, and then three years later, having Troop back in Finals? Yes. HLD Edit: I'm as equally as happy to see the amount of support the drum corps community has given Troop over the past few years. It's incredibly appreciated and it's good to hear. :]
  3. I saw it, got all excited and sent a text to my boyfriend about it. :] Not so much. I have a tattoo of a corps that I marched and I don't feel like it's needed to give me confidence. I have it on my ribs, and most people don't even know it's there. If we get into a discussion about tattoos, I'll gladly show it, but it's not like I have full sleeves that are completely obvious. It's something very personal and has a lot of meaning to me.
  4. I was going to say Sevierville. The mound just makes it really awkward for listening purposes front to back and the pit is almost all sand.
  5. I'm actually pretty excited and really interested to see this show. I can't wait to see what it turns into, and hopefully it'll be catching some more attention. In my opinion, last year's show seemed to plateau and never really reached the climax intended. I'm definitely going to have to check them out this year and see what's going on.
  6. Good job so far! I only have a few suggestions that may or may not work. Cadets - The part of their uniform that is completely unmistakable to me is their yellow cummerbund and sash. What do you think about replacing the second line with a yellow stripe? Madison Scouts - I like the second one, but I feel like it's lacking the detail that is in the other uniforms. Maybe add the gold buttons, and/or a line to show the collar that they have? Phantom Regiment - First one if you're going for the logo, but the second one if you're going strictly for the uniform look. Spirit - Just sayin' that you did really well with this one. I like it. :] Troopers - This past season, there was a black leather baldric with a buckle that went with the uniform. Maybe add that or the gold buttons? And for the multiple uniforms that have sequins, would you be able to make it so that the sequined parts actually look that way? I'm just wondering and I don't know if you want to go that far into it or not. Really nice job, though!
  7. Troopers sunburst. Always amazing, and always has a crowd response. And how can you not appreciate the traditional expanding circle? :]
  8. Music City Mystique is also announcing for the corps on their website. They may be a sibling to them, if not Music City Legend. The corps has a few staff members that are linked to MCM. If I remember correctly, MCM originally started as a corps and turned into indoor and now they may be finally going into the corps area. Whatever the cause, I'm glad to see it happening!
  9. So much for being kind of sneaky. :]
  10. I've been looking around here for a while but never actually joined until a few days ago. I've been a long time fan and have now marched two seasons and have two more before I age out.
