  1. Ok i have heard rumors that sunrisers are going to be in exhibition. Can anyone tell me one way or another what their situation is? thanks
  2. The oldest guy in my corps is turning 77 in like 3 weeks. I can tell the stress of the season gets to him. But he loves it. And I have only seen this guy have to step out once. A lot of respect to a guy that does this in a COMPETING corps playing baritone. Ha Ha Ha lets all hope we can all go out that way. After all drum corps is drum corps. Leave it ALL on the field. Good luck to you man.
  3. I march DCA (all age corps) but last friday I dropped my laptop on my toes and broke two toes. (and yes the laptop is fine ha ha) This was right as I was leaving to perform out near boston. I taped it up and marched on it all weekend through 2 full rehearsal days and two parades. Not saying its the right thing to do but I did it. Although being a masochist helped. So did the bottle of Motrin. I also got our first competitive show this weekend. SO gonna steal pain killers from the guard ha ha
  4. Really surprised no one has done a review. Since I was on the field my opinion would be useless. All these corps will be on the field by saturday I do believe so then we shall see
  5. Ok after seeing the scores from the first few weeks, I, for one, am even more excited for this season. Many people will argue that scores mean nothing, especially with different judging panels, but it gives us an IDEA of how corps are doing. Now once Fusion gets out, then we'll know a lot more of whose got what. If my information is right that is my corps' first competition this season too. July 11 in auburn. That show looks VERY EXCITING for class A.
  6. EXCELSIOR is based out of the capital district of New York (around Albany) and western Massachusetts. Clifton Park is where our lives. But ANYWAY the biggest reason I posted this is because we are near the Massachusetts border. Even Clifton Park is not near Lake Erie. Thanks for the map, its really interesting. I just wanted to help make it more accurate
  7. The X crew is looking forward to being there! should be a lot of fun!
  8. Cant wait for this show! The rest of the X crew feel the same way, should be a blast with 4 class A corps there. And 2 days before my birthday ha ha See you guys on the 50!
  9. So refresh my memory, what corps are new to competing in class A? Sunrisers are coming back. Austin Stars are new. Sun devils is on year two. Anyone else?
  10. Sorry July 4th I wont be in Rochester. From what I can tell the first time we will see each other is "Class A Classics" Waterloo NY, August 1st. I look forward to it. I'll see you on the 50
  11. Ha ha Gotta agree with High Brass here, Fusion was very close last year. And as long as the rumors I heard arent true (doubt they are) they'll be fine. If their drumline steps up their game and things stay the same in the guard and brass they'll be an almost a sure win. But can Fusion's drumline step up to people like the Grenidiers who have always had a solid drumline? .... UGH come on first show!!!
  12. Cant wait for this performance with our good friends The Brigadiers!
  13. HA HA HA sorry bout that for some reason i thought you were referring to DCA
  14. HOLLY COW I STARTED A GOOD DEBATE. Anyways, I was just wondering. I am more excited about seeing the rivalries in class A now more then open class
  15. side question: What is the record for a first year class A corps? I know in 07 fusion got 4th i do believe. Can anyone think of a better first year in dca class a?
  16. Ok after reading this thread I felt you should know this. Starting a drum corps, especially from the ground up, is INCREDIBLY hard work. After coming on as an assistant in my corps board of director's I've realized that unless you got staff and the CORE of the CORPS ( ha ha bad joke ) you will fail. Anyway thats my 2 cents, best of luck.
  17. I know the feeling my friend, a big hello from up here in NY. I'll see you on the 50
  18. Wow, really sad news. I personally was looking forward to your santana music. Hopefully you at least do one of his songs next year. Good decision, my corps made that decision last year. Anyway still will check you out at the mini corps show. Is your mini corps playing carlos santana?
  19. (sniff sniff) is it show time yet? I cant wait to be on the 50.... Grenadiers have a solid drumline thats been there for years, as long as they are back Grenadiers will be in good shape. I look forward to competing against you, doug, and all the class A corps. I think "class A classics" in Waterloo will show whose got what. (at least up in this area)
  20. WELL since I march a class A corps we know who i think will be in finals . Honestly, its definitely possible. But all that aside I am saying (the other 3 besides my corps) would be: Fusion, Sun devils, hhhmmmm the next one is hard... I'd say the grenidiers
  21. Well looks like I'll be competing against you guys this summer. Well good luck and SEE YOU ON THE 50
  22. Sadly I will be VERY surprised if anyone else new goes open class. If a corps decides to go open then they would announce it ASAP cause it would help recruitment. Also I have heard of open class corps hurting pretty bad for numbers SO its possible someone will move down. But SERIOUSLY all you people out there that read dcp and help run DCA can you tell us at least an about on when we will know what corps will be where?
  23. I think with alliance going open class, and chops inc. not going out it'll be an interesting year. I think we are going to see some surprises from the smaller or new corps. Theres some rumors floating around that some long established corps that have competed in class A for a while are very low on numbers, and thus advertising like crazy here on dcp. Can anyone say a new era in class A may be dawning?
