  1. Blue Turf cvould be useful for a show Boise !
  2. !!! REVISION !!!! For LIVE SEASONS After consideration, I would make a max number of Individual caption changes for the season. The formula would include a time clock of sorts... example: In a 11 week season, each corps would get 40 caption changes for the season (4 per wk no finals wk). However, every week, 2 changes would exprire leaving a max of 20 captions changes before finals week.
  3. One way would be to pick corps and not know the years... The years would be random. For instance BD 07 BK 07 SCV 09 Cad 08 MAD 10 Cav 08 etc.... You would build your scores based upon past experiences, but would have to adjust to the trend of each caption.
  4. This would put the I in DCP-I ! The Tokyo Tornadoes might even serve more Kobe Beef !
  5. Proposal: Predetermined amount of Caption Changes My proposal would allow corps to have a alloted amount of changes to use per season. Once a corps had used them all up, they were locked with those captions for the duration of the regular season. The alloted number of changes could be finalized by committee (but less than amount of weeks) . However, I feel that the graduated point increase should stay in place as we know it. That would prevent people from choosing the max number of points from the outset. However, with this change you would also be able to make unlimited caption changes per event during the regular season. During finals week, we would keep the same system of possibly changing 2 captions per day as we currently abide by. Rationale: To increase the Strategy involving Caption Changes and when to change captions. Effect on the activity: From a gameplay standpoint, this would change the way corps directors look at making changes. This would also eliminate the "1 per week" rule for caption changes. Directors would also have to plan changes in advance since there would be less changes than weeks (a midseason rewrite). Corps may choose to save thier changes until late in the season, allowing more corps to have success early in the season. From a Technical standpoint, There is already coding for changes that is used during finals week. This could be rewritten to be a total number for the season. 6. I would also like to welcome Mystre into the CLASS family. As a competitor, they are definitely at the tops of the field.
  7. I have a chance to come tonight Friday... Does anyone have extra floor space to sleep?
  8. Congrats to all who performed in the I&E competition. Special congrats to the the following CK groups who represented CRASS very well: Soprano: GOLD Medal Aiden Hensley (He is 6 years old!!!) Brass Ens: GOLD Medal Beach Bums (it's amazing a medley of Beach Boys tunes was well recieved by the judges.. although the guard girls in bikinis standing behind them probably didn't hurt either) Cymbal Ens: GOLD Medal CK Plates (narrowly winning by .04... and after seeing the MN Scouts perform, they would have been happy with the silver!) Mixed Ens: GOLD Medal CK Mega Mix (who won by 13+ with a show entitled "Handel meets Hip Hop". The crowd was on it's feet at the end of the performance...) Mini Corps: SILVER Medal Cali Corps (after a split decision from the judges, They were happy with thier placement. The crowd loved thier show based on the kids show "Little Einsteins")
  9. Let me be the first to say thank you to Galen for the Daily digests. I know this is a lot of work for you to do. Thank you for putting it together and giving this fantasy game some life.
  10. Yeah... it's tough to not gain the sword when you're #2 overall ! But thanks for the motivation. Surferboy knights? Hmmm I can just imagine a Surfer riding in the tube with a jousting lance heh heh heh
  11. Ahem.... you barely had it long enough to get some dust on it... it's back with the California Knights !!!
  12. Yeah... I just got reports from last night's celebrations.... Seems like our kids followed your members to a local Irish Pub and beat them at drinking too... They came back and said... "not only did we keep the Knights' Sword... we won the Knight's Guinness Pint Glass too!" Oh to be young and have a fresh liver. And since the California Knights frowns upon heavy drinking... they kids were up extra early helping to pack the corps for its trip back across the pond... However, since they beat the Knights at 2 different things... we made sure they had a nice breakfast of steak and eggs !
  13. Even after the DARN JET LAG, it was nice raising the Sword in Scotland ! The Knights have one more day to win it back before we take it back to the states !
