I've always thought of this one more as a closer maybe...very triumphant, beautiful, victorious perhaps? Really, anything sigur ros...you can't go wrong with them. Olsen Olsen, Untitled #1, glosoli, Gong, Saeglopur...basically anything off of Agaetis Byurjin or (). If anyone reading this hasn't heard of sigur ros...do yourself a favor and look up their stuff now.

Sigur ros is kinda popular these days...well as popular as icelandic post rock is ever gonna get haha. I've always imagined a lot of their songs translating well to the field...maybe for a reallyreallyreally effective ballad.

YES! I wanna see a corps do some music from very underground bands...Animals as leaders, Cyclamen, maybe even Between the buried and me. Of course these would all be effin crazy in terms of difficulty (time sig changes everywhere and poly rhythms up the butt) but I would give a giant hug to every member of staff for doing it.

Exactly what I'm saying... I could probably put a pearl sticker on a dynasty drum, and people would think it sounds amazing. But the second I take it off, it sounds like a "tabletop".

Sure, but you completely ignored my comment about 08 vs. 09. The snare sound in 08 was extremely dry, and their worst snare sound to date. However, compare that to 09-very wet snare sound, almost identical to the sound I hear in the pearl drums on the video. I'll give that the Pearls have a somewhat fuller sound to them-but otherwise, I can't really hear much of a difference, really. Then again, people do have this nasty habit of perceiving what they want to believe...

I guess BD's snare sound last year doesn't mean anything. Dynastys do not sound like "cardboard boxes". No matter how much you want them to, they will never sound anything like cardboard boxes. It's in the tuning. Heads, to a certain amount to-BD switched to Evans heads last year, so that might be the difference between 08 and 09.
