  1. a ton are returning... should be a very strong corps, especially percussion and brass as neither aged out more than average and the battery probably aged out fewer than average
  2. and C2 will not march a cymbal line in 2016
  3. people love sitting on the internet presuming things... such a joke.
  4. Avon 2015 ala Cadets 2007 - they did a great job with it... https://youtu.be/vvqUMB8CPsE?t=6m56s
  5. Justin Tucker just sunk thru the turf on Sunday http://abc7news.com/sports/levis-stadium-under-fire-again-for-condition-of-turf-field/1041444/
  6. Great question... I would say both corps should improve their "weakness" next season Cadets may have an advantage in that the top guard programs (other than BD and Crown the past 3 years) aren't quite as numerous and "entrenched" -- whereas Crown breaking through the SCV/Cadets/BD/Bluecoats etc percussion dominance is quite tough. 5th is tough - taking one of those others out is so hard. But (on the other hand) Crown has a years "heads start" to build upon... So.... ? Great question! Time will tell.
  7. A Stonehenge type approach - non-literally but the feeling of a story or underlying meaning. That's still my favorite Cadets production ever! The guard/visual component is critical - judging by C2's guard approach last summer, I say the chances are favorable
  8. a great little video from the 83 "welcome home" - apologies if already posted https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=132&v=Si2vS0kMU_Q
  9. And other than the guard they were fairly dirty... Especially intervals and feet phasing...
  10. I personally thought crown deserved fourth. BD and Coats in the top two spots followed by cadets I didn't get the GE scoring at all. Coats seemed underscored and Crown over scored. You strip away the fabric and the guard and there wasn't much left. Jmo. I'm hoping crown and cadets both take very fresh approaches to visual this coming season.
  11. Personally I am excited by the changes to the visual teams and the stability in the music captions Hoping for some freshness to the visual side of things Jmo
  12. I've heard the same thing - taking the french horn feature from this past year but expanding upon it with several other section features as well... It was great in 2015 - but very brief, and adding the "ta-da" to lengthen it really wasn't that effective.
  13. I was on tour the entire summer - saw like 20-30 shows... There was a mix but the midwest "fans" were the most vocal in their hatred. Just what I saw personally. Folks leaving and not watching the performance, then booing the results. Mostly Scouts t-shirt wearing folks. If you recall at that time they (and the director) were being allegedly "underscored" in DCI
  14. it wasn't the show as much as the fact that Star had trounced Madison and Regiment for several years running. Most shows I was out Scouts fans in particular and some Regiment fans... would "run for a hot dog" during Star's show - -and then BOO the results for a performance they DIDN'T even see. It was laughable.
  15. Still one of the most remembered moments in Cadets history. Quite an uproar at the time!
  16. I really don't think a 1 year old belongs at finals. From what I recall you'll be traveling from far away. Most hotels offer really great (and "bonded") nanny services. You might enjoy the event more if you pay for the nanny and enjoy the corps free from distraction
  17. I agree it's hard to pull it apart. I think the "cost them a championship" was mainly pointing the one glaring caption weakness. Similar to Crown and percussion. But the guard scores did seem to bleed over into the other visual caption and GE a bit more than - say - drums or brass - would. That's the nature of DCI judging - extremely guard/visual driven. And it probably should be. Not saying otherwise.
  18. exactly.. and when new names ARE introduced they get ripped across as "unqualified" due to the fact that they don't have DCI "pedigree" The best organizations take a mix of proven and unproven talent and mix the right personalities and approaches - as have Crown and Cadets through the years.
  19. Exactly. These Cadet "critics" are really becoming tiresome... And Cadets are held to an entirely different set of standards (by some)
  20. I saw a lot of rehearsals too - and it was live. They had recorded back up.
  21. I'm not "pretending" it was live AND they had a back up track if the mic went out
  22. for the love of god IT WAS NOT LIP SYNCED
