  1. I'm pulling for Coats. No worries. Hoping they score a 99 lol - for Coats its all feet feet feet right now - get to see them tomorrow and cannot WAIT
  2. Bam. "Ignored" you're officially GONE from my world.
  3. It's just a guess. What's yours? Cadets last score was 93.75 - so I have them gaining 1.4 / not two Coats last score seemed a little high to their trend
  4. I'm not sure where the point is lost on you. It doesn't take a "political stance" of any sort. Therefore it's not about "politics" - it is about leadership, vision and all the things this country has been through. PERIOD.
  5. the top programs around here raise around $50-100K per year for design and instruction
  6. Don't disagree. They have the right to launch it before a live audience It is extremely effective in person!!
  7. I don't disagree with the "dead president" rule of thumb. lol
  8. it's really not a political show at all, but I guess some folks can't get past "oh god that's a Obama saying" etc... which in my view is extremely myopic
  9. oh god no. It is so much better now Mike. It's fine if it isn't your cup of tea but the design is much more effective now.
  10. The quote "yes we can" is extremely innocuous - and I can't stand this President Goes along with the rest of the mindset of the show that "as Americans, working together, we can do anything" - it is really about the power of a free & democratic people
  11. Except this show is in NO WAY political It's purposefully not political It's about leadership, vision, promise & America. Not politics.
  12. don't underestimate the crowd reaction in this case - Cadets were paying the price point wise the past week or so with their pancake ending I'd say a 1-2 point bump once clean - and half the gap with BD I'd also say they have securely locked up second - all just a hunch obviously
  13. I know most of the top drill writers personally. They don't make over six figures / well one does, but with teaching and a couple primo gigs. A "full" top notch WGI/BOA program tops out at 25K - but most "top" programs are in the $5-12K range, and I'm talking the top several in each state Indoor program designs run around $2500 - a very good guard caption head can get $5-10K for the winter Outdoor programs are a little more - a drum guy might get $5K - front ensemble $2500 - drill guy $5000 and music arranger $5-10K - but that's for a top program Again - this is all first hand information.
  14. agreed = it will be interesting to hear how the Chambersburg crowd reacts tonight - it is a YEA show but frankly most years it is pretty pro-Crown and/or Crossmen I'll get to see it live at Rutgers tomorrow night and I'll report back (honestly!) on the crowd reaction as well the group in the stands last night ate it up - but it was a more rural "Americana" type community
  15. folks can charge up to the $10K figure for a visual design from a top program - but there are only so many of those around - a winter program is usually much less (about $2500) so he'd have to design for 90-150 programs which is impossible top designers can get by - but they are NOT making "good money" by any stretch - I'm sorry, just don't want you to go into this being unrealistic
  16. wow you guys are a tough crowd lol - in person it seemed a hundred times better - but what do I know hahaha
  17. perhaps you're not the target audience lol I loved it. Huge improvement.
  18. It's funny you mentioned that (and I agree) Last night during rehearsal Gino kept trying to pull that out of the hornline and essentially said at one point "the next ten days are about more power, more emotion out of your horns" -- so they see that and seem to be working on it Felt better last night in person but still work to do - brass is a little too controlled at times
