  1. Hard to please the Cadets, My friend Housed them one time and they were upset they got to use the Game football field and only had another paved practice field. I know they are rockstars by most high schools don't have "three" practice fields and i feel this is pushing some away from Hosting Drum corps Shows. Now if it's the schools fault I am sorry.....
  2. Theater in Knoxville TN was about 80% full. It was loud which i thought was great but i couldnt hear much of the bass drums unless they were only playing by themselves. Great mix of High School, thirty year olds and fifety's plus at my venue. It's sad the knoxville area has been three years without a drumcorps show now. It might be time for me to work on that! The event should have been a "Yamaha" event except for Bluestars and I think the sound differnce on the Brass was very evident. The expectations for drill and music anymore is at a level i don't think i've ever seen. Here's to all the performers and me wanting to see another show Asap....
  3. From Hollywood to Dollywood VK 90 with Yellow drums? I thought it was soooo cool!
  4. Since the activity is now Brass theater when will star make a return?I honestly like it when a solo or horn line played so beautifully and used the stadium to make beautiful sounds. It's not about me,I still love the G three valved instruments! Those horns projected and when in tune sounded so wonderful! But i get it, you can't sell them to marching bands after the season.Drums have really changed over the years and i never want to hear a 15" Mylar snare on the field again. I would love to hear pure pit again, but that's me and i never marched a corps in the top 25 so what do i know? Bash Me,Ban Me, whatever this is a me me world and if WE don't agree they just want us to leave. I'm still bitter over My Sevierville TN show being taken away, field sucked i know, show was around since 1977! They have a turf field, i'm sure Hoppie wouldn't like it. Drum Corps is about teaching, but it's also about playing "the game" next year Tbones, Fhorns and whatever else they can do will be all over fields. I'm done ranting.I respect EVERY PERFORMER, no matter what corps, and every educator. I have my view, but whatever. The activity is rolling........
  5. Probably to busy having dents taken out of the trombone slides!
  6. Sevier Co now has a beautiful Field Turf Stadium, the bad news is Hoppie had this show canned two years ago because he didn't get his way!
