  1. If I was Belleville I would be scratching my head to this day.....
  2. Ok, that's weird--BK wins the tourney, beats Vanguard by 1.5 and Bleu Raiders, then goes on to NOT make the first DCI while Vanguard place 7th and Raiders 12th with a 73.95-----BK goes from 82.00 to not even 73.00?!? What happened there? That darned tick system?
  3. Oh man, what the heck were those penalties? That had to hurt. I almost lost my life due to a penalty I committed at DCI prelims....but we made the show (12th) so here I stand.......
  4. The old Ludwig factory is condo's now on N. Damen Ave........the new Ludwig guys in Indiana don't want to do marching drums anymore. I suppose that's been evident for a while now.
  5. What happened to those corps? Did they go to Whitewater?
  6. Wait, weren't Cavies still using Rogers double drums in 1973? Before switching to trips?
  7. In '74 Stars had chrome with red lug twine--someone just sent me facebook pics of '74 Trooper show and that's what they were carrying...
  8. Ok, now that I look at it this seems sarcastic--but really, they're starting to look like the butt stompin' Stars of the 70's. I'll wager top 6 in 2010.
  9. Blue Stars are the new OLD Blue Stars.....
  10. Hey, I marched that show with the Kilties.....do you remember how we did?
  11. I would love a copy of that show--any chance?
  12. Right. Why is his left hand choking up? There's no dynamics, lots of rim clicks, indecision between left and right hand and questionable phrasing. I give it a B- and I'm grading on a curve. The next Buddy Rich? Buddy Rich is dead.....
  13. Oh man, I am in this picture, that's me behind the flags! Well at least I can see my pals Mr. Burton and Mr. Nakamura in the upper right hand corner playing drums.....that was one heck of a season.....many firsts for many people that year.
  14. So the recording's lo-fi, big deal. Just because someone's standing there with a 58 and a porta studio doesn't mean Cadets won't rock. S for S will be great.....just need to work on that logo
  15. And those were the old NASA ones built before '78 when auto stability and cruise control were not mandatory.....
  16. Some Don Ellis action. I believe the Des Plaines Vanguard were at the Civic Opera House thing too and were mucking about with some sort of cannon for 1812 Overture, something like that and it might explain the extra goodies corps were using at that particular show. Cool beans. edited for dropped word
  17. Super Don O what the heck 1968? Do you have pics or article or something, that's wild. Was it a gramophone or some GE appliance we're not aware of?
  18. Leave it to tommytimp to come up with the tympani answer!
  19. If that's true, does it mean Stars beat everyone since their inception?
