  2. The Bushwackers are delighted to announce that our Open House and first rehearsal of the new season will be at: 1:00PM on Saturday November 24th at Mahwah High School, 50 Ridge Road in Mahwah, New Jersey. The Bushwackers always hold their Open House on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving, but the big change this year will be a much better place in which to hold the exciting start of our 2008 season. “This facility is one of the best Bush has ever used.” announced Director Jay Morlot in a message to the corps membership. Registration will begin at 1:00 PM. After time for veterans to greet each other and prospective members, we will be treated to a presentation of our plans for the 2008 season, and then we will break up into sections and do what we all came for: playing, spinning, dancing, etc. The day is expected to end at 6:30 PM. What will you need to bring with you? EVERYONE participating in the Open House is required to bring a $25 Non-refundable Registration Fee and since we expect a large turnout, potential members may want to bring their own instruments if they can. GUARD should bring clothing they can move and dance in, gloves, and the weapon(s) you are interested in spinning if you have them. “We were looking for an ideal location for our Open House,” said Mr. Morlot. “It had to be convenient to many places: northern New Jersey, northeastern and central Pennsylvania, Connecticut, the Boston area, and New York City, but also easily reached from Philadelphia, southern New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. The ideal location would also be accessible by mass transportation. Mahwah High School fits the bill perfectly!” Assistant Director Bob Kidd is equally enthusiastic about this development. “Mahwah is the superb site to start the Bushwackers’ 2008 season...a great facility with easy access from all over the map. It really couldn’t be better for the corps and its members.” And, Mr. Kidd adds “The Bushwackers want to thank the Mahwah Board of Education for their cooperation and hospitality. Hosting our first member meeting and rehearsal is certainly an auspicious start to our 27th season.” Newly appointed Director of Operations Tiffany Duncan was instrumental in working through the complex arrangements that were involved; her elevation to that post will be one of the many exciting developments that will be announced on November 24th. The mission of The Bushwackers is to provide Quality experiences in education and performance as well as opportunities for Quality people to learn from each other and form lifetime friendships. We hope you can be part of the six-time DCA Champion Bushwackers as we embark on our 27th season, and if you have any questions about the Open House, please contact Tiffany Duncan at Tiffany@Bushwackers.org. Stay tuned to www.bushwackers.org for more exciting announcements from The Bushwackers!! If you're interested in marching, checking it out, or even just getting some more information...please fill out a membership form at http://www.bushwackers.org/member/ or email Bob Kidd at asstdir@bushwackers.org. 5. Or, perhaps, Rodney can teach two groups? Staff cross-overs ain't rare anymore. I am not sure what "Rarro" was saying - I guess it's better to ask him/her.
  6. OK, cool...I was a little worried for a minute. Welcome back to Scott, John, David, Richie, Margie, and Rodney!!! Scott has told me that the guard is preparing to out-do the last two years.
  7. WAIT A MINUTE!!! Two of my favorites - Margie Vitale and Rodney Thomas - aren't coming back?! SCOTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Not so with the Bushwackers! Our world champion guard makes the ENTIRE corps proud.
  9. Joe has taken an enhanced role with the corps. We're really excited about it, too!! More great announcements coming very soon.
  10. Key is excited to be with Bush. The Bush design team is excited to have Key. Another annoucement is coming shortly. A great addition to the team!! Lookin' good already for '08!!
  11. I have gotten thrown out...I mean rehearsed...at many facilities in my drum corps career. Some mom and pop places, some better than others. This place is WORLD class!! Thanks, Brian!! Friends, family, alumni, and fans - come on out August 26th. Check out the new digs and check out the corps.
  12. Help drum corps?! Bye bye...hello private island in the South Pacific. Hello personal Gulfstream.
  13. I suppose so, but is it really all that important? I wouldn't consider anyone's response to this thread "grandstanding", but that's just me. Back to the trivia - whether asked, answered, or both (even at the same time).
  14. Bush also debuted the first non-G horns on the DCA competition field.
  15. Big, big, BIG weekend!! Lots of heat, but lots more heart. And Sunday...how can we beat a field looks is adjacent to the Hudson with a great view of the Manhattan skyline?!
  16. After some fact checking, Bush did that, too. 1986, etc. 2000 for last in prelims.
  17. Now this guy is hilarious!! I would love to see him and his "mob of hornline members" employ his methods with some to the locals during the Bridgeport parade!! Said violator returns to scene of said assault, looking for said group dressed rather conspicuously, with said group of friends, carrying said Louisville Sluggers, tire irons, and chains. Yeah, this guy is hilarious!!
  18. WOW!! Paul is intense!! The rest of the corps is just as intense!!
  19. Yes it was a GREAT run-through!! Seeing hats, gloves, gauntlets, uniform tops - but no uniform pants - was VERY interesting. The guard looks INCREDIBLE in their "uniforms"!! I am excited about Bush bringing our little piece of NYC to Bridgeport.
  20. Nah, you don't want to SEE this drum line - you really want to HEAR them!!
  21. A great weekend indeed!! Lots learned, which was tough with the influx of new people. We anticipate the same this coming weekend. Stop on out to Ridgefield Park and check out the 2007 version of the Bushwackers!!
