  1. saw them in minnesota and they were terrific, an amazing show for their 70th anniversary. the pit never fails year after year, the brass line always killer, their guard always executing beyond belief, it seems this year the weak spot is in their battery, but all in all an exciting show to watch
  2. so is there no i&e during championship week then this year?
  3. its more a less a shot at the organization on the director side for changing their name to get out of debt? unfair is the word. look at what the spartans did, now that is a true organization with heart, integrity, and balls, and they will be the first to say that it has not been easy im sure of it.
  4. well considering the fact they have had the same amount of practice time but probably more than the corps which have already competed however the other corps started their competition season weeks before they did so if they are "that amazing" to think they would bust out mid to higher 70's...nothing more extradonary with this corps than other corps in the middle to lower half of open class, there is nothing at all to brag about. and you mean lower end of box 4? box 4 starts with the 70...they got 71.
  5. someone give the details on what happened and why the members were cut. and im not complaining i dont find their shows exciting they have marching band feel to them the past years.
  6. youd need the right corps and the right venue to draw in a large amount of spectators so it isnt "band mom central" going on to have a open class only show be worth it. what corps would you want to see if only 6 open class corps performed?
  7. i heard from even over here in the mid west they have the best designed show any corps other than most world class corps has ever seen. i saw a video of them on youtube, and cant wait to see them execute it in person in virginia this weekend
  8. 1- bdb 2- spartans 3- 7th regiment 4- oregon crusaders 5- revolution 6- raiders 7- colt cadets 8- legends 9- incognito 10- music city 11- racine scouts 12- forte
  9. i heard that this show was a bad show for everyone except the spartans which good for them to have a show in their home state!
  10. raiders are really nothing special, the only thing to the raiders is that...they are good and that is really it, nothing from them withstands above all. and yes, i did see music city, still as i said, nothing really special. they lucked out with kids knowing how to march and play, who cares. for 2nd place i can see oregon crusaders busting through and claiming that seat.
  11. why do you think music city? what more is there to them than that last year was their 1st year out and they placed last in finals? not really a big deal, no "cinderella" story to them at all.
  12. Then again let's think about Citations and what really made them reach top 3. Obviously their color guard, but word on street is that Spartans have under 16 color guard now, their percussion finished only what 11 or 10th in finals, and their brass somewhere in the middle? And Spartans are notorious for signing members on a contract to only march a spot, not needing to play a horn. And CitBos...that is what the word on the DCI street is that 7th did grow in numbers and apparently are reading to take the field by storm. I aged out in Div 1...sorry "world class" in 2006 and just recently started paying attention to open class because my younger siblings have been marching with SCVC for the past few years, but honestly 7th has that fairy tale story, I do remember seeing them in I want to say 05, maybe in 06 and they were just flat out a sad excuse for a drum corps but now...all anyone can say about them is "####". What are peoples takes on the Oregon Crusaders?
  13. this is such a horrible idea. talk about more segregation much and giving a the huge middle finger to the other world class corps. just because you may have championship rings on your fingers, and a lot of money does not mean you work harder than the rest of the corps, and does not make you more superior than anyone else. where is crown pulling out of this? they just started getting "good" in '05. and their championship performance this past year was not second place worthy, they performed that show better at other times during their season. i wonder why hopkins and others resigned from the BOD. and what about open class? dont most members start out there to train for world class or because they cant march a full summer? this is the worse idea ever its like the "elite 7" is korea.
