THANK YOU BRASSO for your posting.. For many years now.. a few directors have been pushing the enveolope to move this activity more to a BOA thing. I just want my DCI ... the way its been... with the few updated items... (you can take away the guitar, electronics and amps!) If you need amps in your pit to get acrosse a sound or some point to make your show understood, then maybe you need to rethink the idea ! Let the pit be the historic pit that us Old Dino's enjoy, and made this activity..keyboards, tymps.. percusive pieces.. After all... us Dino's started a good thing here... I really dont personally care for the "next" generation to change the activity without some valid input from us.. Dont we matter.. after all.... we started this whole thing in the first place..... (just mho)..... ! Have a nice day

I know what I would LIKE to say, but Im going to be a lady, and hope that a G-7 corps, if that whole theory doesnt flop half-way thru the season" WILL GET BEAT ! (and I will bet the house IT WILL HAPPEN) I see a reserging Madison Organizaiton........ I see a Blue Star Corps that continually keeps building on the momentum from the past years, with an alumni base that is just as excited as the members that are currently marching...... I feel more crowd resentment towards G-7 corps..... whether that be thru rude behavior in the stands or what have you WHILE they are performing on the field......... and I see a BIG TIME DROP in souvies for those "elite 7".... or is it "8" now... ???? I see some SERIOUS off the field activity at the end of the season with the corps directors, now that they have HEARD AND READ what their bread and butter... fans.... think about this possible outcome of this whole G-7 mess... that there are corps that dont make top 12 and (shock) PEOPLE WANT TO SEE THEM TOO !!!! OMG !!!!!! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT !!!!! ?? l go and support this summer's shows and corps efforts... but I wonder if the facet that we know as Drum Corps International will ever be the same again...... unless a few directors "get a grip" and realize that they just ..... might... need to come out of the clouds. So.. we wait for the soap to continue...... and I hope for a good outcome......... oh, btw... just my opinions... sorry if you're offended...

I like the 2003-2005 look.......I like the color scheme.... but I would make the front a full flur-dul-lis.... It that huge flur doesnt stick out and say "hey=were Madison !!" I dont know what would. just mho....... but Im still a fan and enjoy you guys !!!!

Wondering if the fact that finals in 83 were WAY down in HOT/STEAMY MIAMI......... probably the furthest point for any westcoast corps to HAVE to travel for a FINALS....other then Montreal. Just think finals should be more "central-ized" in the US.. Denver KC Nashville Chicago.. but I think Miami had a draw there because the 2 previous years were in Montreal... and maybe..just maybe .... those in charge wanted some sun and fun for funals..... imho... aka.. cruises.. key west.. etc....

haha.. Asked for it.... no, I had a -small- feeling that maybe.. just maybe some other DRUM & BUGLE CORPS fans would've written in and said some theories to back up my ideas....... but hey.. it's a holiday weekend.... heck.. when I marched, we were already touring at this time..... so NO.. not surprised........ Again.. corps I support .. I am excited to see... to me, I WANT to try and enjoy this season... so... G7 or whaterver.. I hope the members have a good summer.

I knew I would get blasted ... but hey... I got thick skin...... Have a feeling others out there feel like I do tho....

I watched and tried to keep my mind open ... with all the G7 junk that we've unfortunately had to endure.... but I watchung the clip... I see a corps in the stages of learning/rehersing a show, but back in my mind, Im wondering... Really... whey did the Cadets organization go and post that..? I think there was more "talk" about the off the field antics then what was really happening between the endzones.... Was this a "try and take your mind off all the negitivity that came with this corps" and to show the dc fans that the shows are going on... In a sense... hi.. please try to forget about that other stuff.. and watch this as an even trade....... I appreciate the corps' members efforts..... but this G7 stuff is still toooooooo fresh and Im still not all toooooo happy with a few corps and their directors.......... This is my opinion... sorry if you disagree....

I guess the idea of where to have a "DCI" type event isnt no longer WHERE..... but what community will allow the likes of 20-40 corps and housing them. I hope maybe DCI can come up with a rotation theory that was once talked about ... and I would go to KC.. Dallas...Atlanta.... Buffalo...Denver... just no on Jackson and Montreal.... sorry.

As a fan, thanks for the update... It's always almost amusing to see the reactions of someone that has been in band or music of some sort, and take them to a show and watch their reactions.... kinda like a kid Christmas morning....!!!! I cant wait to see them this summer.... I want those 20 contras to blow me back a row in the seats !!!!!!

It's a shame if the housing theory is correct. Being at both 88 and 89, good seating, parking, food. BUT DCI was going later intot the month of August......... maybe the Chiefs wouldnt have a problem now..... but I didnt know housing was an issue... Is there ANY DCI Finals week venue that DOESNT have school/housing issues ???? Whether it be insurance issues with the school or other corps "usage or misusage" of facilities...?? But I enjoyed KC as a site !

I, like the sounds of many, will take the time that the G7 are on the field...do souvie hunting... get a bite to eat or use the restroom... whatever... If I care to, since I did purchase the ticket...(not just because Corps X would be there.....) I will watch... I will politely clap.... but it will be NOTHING like the excitement that will be shown for the "others"... and I hope and believe that I am not alone on some kind of theory like what I intend to do.

And I, too, also agree with you on this !!!! others may think this too !!!!

Fair enough dbc.... thanks for the clarification.... again, didnt mean any harm by it.. I, like yourself, am passionate about this activity, and just wish there was a way to make "everyone" happy, and make this year enjoyable for everyone, without wondering whats going to happen when 2011 rolls around. That....2011 season... scares me .... I just hope there IS a 2011 season that we all can agree about and put this whole "chapter of DCI" in the books... and move forward where the initials DCI still stand .

dbc... Im just curious, and this isnt an attack or anything.. Im just curious.... since you appear to be pro G7 for the mostpart..... why do you have -2- corps names under your signature that are NOT in the G7...? Apparently you HAVE enjoyed those non G7 corps ... at one time... Maybe you marched with those 2 non G7 corps .. I dont know.... but.. Will you still enjoy them, if they dont belong to the elite ?

I respect your idea of trying to find a "fair" way of coming up with a way to figure this mess out, but if you were to go back 10 years.... Blue Stars were in div2/3...... Troopers were not in top 12..... Carolina MAY have just clamed Div 1 status.. (not sure on that .. please dont blast me if Im wrong...) Crossmen were in and out .... I applaud your efforts to try to find a "reason" of making this work.... but IMHO.... I just dont think this whole ordeal has a chance, since DCI has changed so much over the years...I've been told anyway..... just some thoughts... John

yes............ I have a VERY good feeling like they'll huddle together and come out of their bungalo, and state that "we misunderstood the actual proposal... blahblahblah.......... my question to myself and others........... if they do, is my heart able to allow them back in ? Im mad... but..

The season cant get here soon enough....Madison .. I can't wait to SEE YOU this summer !!! Help bring back some "old corps" enjoyment..with a 2000's twist to make it awesome !
