  1. This crowd tonight is electric. Very enthusiastic at the smallest details.
  2. This Academy show is incredible, and can be something really special, but can't hold a candle to last year's. IMVHPO
  3. I'm excited too. Saw their drumline in the lot last night and they SLAMMED
  4. Definitely that. And, drums have a higher presence among non-band communities than horns do
  5. It's a recurring pattern that drumlines fill up in smaller corps faster than hornlines or guards do. As a drummer, I can testify to the statement "everybody wants to be a drummer."
  6. From a couple posts, ago, yes, those are the San Gabriel Mountains.
  7. Watchmen drum feature was very impressive. Those kids have potential Edit: Not implying the potential doesn't exist elsewhere. Watchmen just really stuck out to me.
  8. Can anybody direct me to, or provide, a list of the judges? Can't find it online
  9. Really impressed with Gold's show. High quality, you can tell the kids' passion for it. Very nice to see.
  10. Gold is a full corps this year. Makes me feel optimistic about the future of the activity.
  11. Mine: Felliniesque did not deserve the score it got. Sorry BD. Tilt should have won. Inferno and Relentless should have won. I want recaps back. (been said already) For drummers - I'm still not at all a fan of BD's drums and how the quads have a gap in the rim to avoid hitting it.
  12. In conclusion: another Bluecoats show that 1) is very (VERY) enjoyable and 2) makes no sense, at least to my eye. The last three years, ranked imo from least to most enjoyable: Kinetic Noise, Down Side Up, Tilt.
  13. One thing they consistently do well, and have since (at least) 2012 - BALLADS
  14. Bloo - very entertaining show with a totally bonkers drum book, but a little too much WGI for me...
  15. Hard to keep up mellos and baris and trumpets...hard book.
  16. Academy about to take the field. Love this show, especially the brass hit in the opener. Weather is great. I'm an Ohio guy at a California drum corps show with mountains in the background and this is the life.
  17. Is anyone else purposefully avoiding any shows until they can be seen live? Or is that a tactic only I'm following this year. But man, is it hard to not watch BK videos as soon as they come out.
  18. I dont' cry, but I'm leaving room. I'm willing to give BK my tears. This is just gonna be too good.
