  1. And if you get confused look for the signs!

Dan B Melha Shriner Drum Corps

  3. The weather looks like it will co-operate with cold temps and some flurries. No storm in sight! We have a good line-up of talent in the individuals, with all horn sections represented. Couple that with Marksmen and Centurians in Mini Corps competition, percussion and brass ensembles AND Ct Alumni and your hosts The Melha Shriner Drum Corps in Exhibition and it looks like a great day of Drum Corps! Remember, if you were waiting to see if the weather was nice before entering, WALK INS ARE ALLOWED! So pull out the horn and bring it along! BFDTV is not able to be here, so this may be your only way to see these great performances. We are planning on filming it, but don't know if it will make it to you tube. See you Saturday at 11 AM!

  5. Good to hear from you! Late is NOT a problem, we may see entries that day! I was wondering if you would make it this year. See you on the 11th
  6. Just heard from Dan Skinner. He will be competing on the trombonium! Ct Alumni is coming so hopefully Anthony can entice performances out of Scott and Cakes!
  7. Dave Negri is coming ...... not sure how many of the Zamboni Bros other than Anthony and maybe Richie. Basement brass working on something new, hopefully will be ready for the 11th.
  8. Standish Guard coming up from Plymouth with their new larger Percussion Ensemble! Also, Marksmen have decided to compete as a mini. Anybody else interested?
  9. Larry

Could use a few individual performers for BHOF.

    Any interest from your horns?

  10. Individual entries are starting to come in. Could use a couple of ensembles. Anyone interested?
  11. Great to read of someone doing BETTER! Get well soon Tom!
  12. Update We have confirmed that BOTH Marksmen and CT Alumni will return for this years show and perform in exhibition. Also, Centurians will be on hand to compete as a mini corps. I will post more as we confirm performances.
  13. You should check out the alumni section. Many of us old school folks there!
  14. The Melha Shriner Drum Corps is once again proud to be hosting The Buglers Hall of Fame Springfield Regional I&E and mini corps show. This years event will be held on Saturday February 11 from 11AM to 3PM. It will be held at The Melha Shrine Center, 133 Longhill St Springfield MA. Food, cash bar, and 50/50 raffle tickets will be available, as well as "Rock the Fez!" t-shirts. Admission is still just $10.00! entry forms are available at http://www.buglershalloffame.com/ More to follow as we confirm corps attending!
  15. Condolences to the Pronti family from the Melha Shriner Percussion Ensemble. RIP Dick
  16. I might suggest you put this post on the alumni forums as well. You may get a better response. Looking forward to seeing you in Springfield for the 1st BHOF show! Regards Dan
  17. Does Standish Guard have a horn line? Last I knew they were just percussion.
  18. Looking forward to your continued growth! Springfield BHOF is Feb 11. See you in Enfield for Veterens Day Parade!
  19. Why not start the weekend with a Thursday night jam session? ANY corps or individual would be welcome to come and play. A format could be set up with the smaller or lesser known corps following the Sky mini or Brigs alumni etc. This would allow for groups or individuals performing in the I&E to do a run through to a live audience. I would suggest a 3pm start as there may be many performers for one venue. This would help DCA with marketing in cities as it would assure MORE hotel room rentals and MORE restaurant business. Any thoughts? Dan
  20. Some years ago I thought up "Old Style Drum Corps" It had alumni corps in competition 3 times a year in 2 catagories. Stand and blow concert formation. Full off the line routine. Don't know if it would fly but thought I would add it to the thread! Also, when discussing this subject several "alumni" corps have now taken the "senior" moniker, since DCA is now called "all age" Crusaders and Kevin's come to mind.
  21. Insurance will NOT cover trailer. Covered for liability only. Funds continue to come in and we should be able to make the trailer usable again. Thanks for all the interest!
  22. The BHOF format will work even in the first year. We sponsored the first Springfield Regional BHOF I&E in January and it was successful both financially and in terms of participants. We are looking forward to our second show on Feb. 11, 2012. We have made a lot of new friends in the drum corps scene and are looking to add some more! Dan Benoit Melha Shriners Drum Corps Rock the Fez!
