Enjoying the live webcast. Hello, everyone. -
DCI deserves major props for bringing Finals Awards and Retreat to the masses via the web. I am very grateful! It was very emotional even on the web. I also want to thank DCI and all the corps for promoting this art and helping kids learn so much about themselves and what they can accomplish. I just keep praying that we will see music programs continue in US public schools. There have been too many cuts. Thanks, DCI!

Prayer for Ryan and his family. Bless his heart. I can only imagine the pain and suffering he endured. From a medical view, I believe he likely had several smaller stresses or injuries throughout this season. The severe pain should have been an indication to the corps medical staff that he should be further evaluated and maybe released from marching. Likely, he fell as a result of the simultaneous fracture along several lines in his tibia. Compound means multiple fracture points in the bone. I am sure he will recover well, but what a trooper he was. I am sure he likely insisted over and over that he was just fine and that he could march. This is what most corps members do for the brothers and sisters. They are so sacrificial and giving. They don't want to let anyone down. I cast no blame on the Crown medical team, but this may result in a review of their medical review and procedures, which is a really important thing when you think about how much these kids endure. God bless Ryan, his family and caregivers. Keep him in your prayers. There is no supportive family like corps family.

I don't think booing is ever helpful in anyway. It will never lead to anything good. This is especially true in a Drum Corps competition. Booing at a corps is just not kosher- no matter how much you don't agree with their program or scores. Regardless, the kids in all corps have worked the butts off and don' t deserve booing. Same goes for the staff and officials. I say NO to booing in drum corps, and really to anything else. I think it is rude.

Hello, I am glad I finally signed up for DCP. I am so late in doing this. Does anyone know how to make your profile pic show up on your postings? I cannot seem to figure it out. Go all Corps!!!!! So sad this season is ending tonight! Peace, FredinAtlanta

Star of Indiana--how did they do?
FredinAtlanta replied to Sam98's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
What a treat last night for Star alumni to return. Lots of happy Star memories. Gosh, that corps was super stellar and contributed so much to drum corps. Loved them. They were incredible. They played music from all of their greatest shows. Lots of tears and goosebumps! Fred -
I am all for NO HATE in Drum Corps. We should all get a long and respect each other. The ones who score low, the ones who score high, the ones in the middle. We are all part of the Corps family. Go Drum Corps!!!! Feel the LOVE!!!

DCI story on CNN.com
FredinAtlanta replied to hkhongkong's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
What a horrible idea. I love woodwinds, but they don't belong on the field in a corps. I disagree with Hopkins here, and I admire him. Some of the changes have been good, some bad. This would change corps in a negative way. It's Drum and Bugle corps. That's what it is. Woodwinds should be a no go. FredinAtlanta -
Hey DCP friends! Last night was super killer at Semis. All corps were incredible. Lots of energy. It's been a long time, and I have forgotten what some of the sub captions mean. Can someone explain to me what the following captions actually mean within "Visual" and "Performance and Ensemble"? "Vocab" "Excl" Thanks! Go Drum Corps! Fred
