  1. I feel them adding length to their tour is going to help them push into finals. More shows means more judges tapes
  2. As long as they don't use as much synth they can only get better
  3. ESOM in 2011 was amazing but if they were to bring it back next year it wouldn't be as spectacular. If they did it in their show I can see a lot of people treating like Crown in 2010 when they brought back the ending from 2009. People will say yes it was very good but nothing special. As an encore piece I think it would be well received by fans.
  4. I know The university of Cincinnati has quite a few. 3 or 4 drummers from Madison, 4 or 5 trumpets from madison, guard from Blue stars, Guard from Capital Regiment, Mellophone from capital regiment, Plus they have Nick Anglis as a staff member who was on madisons staff til this year.
  5. @ Perc2100 In '09 when I was with capital regiment we had a very well run tour (meaning no bussing issues, not having housing sites, etc) so I do have a wonderful experience to compare '10 to.
  6. Even the top corps like phantom and cadets have trouble finding places to stay and sometimes dont secure housing til last minute, Imagine how difficult it is for an unreputable corps like revo to find housing last minute. But when it came down to it we (the members) were always fed, showered, and ready to perform by showtime. And to the credit of John and Mike none of these bus problems or housing site issues happened while they were around. In '10 there were no problems like this but when they had to leave to go back to San Antonio things always returned to a worse state.
  7. So the fact that all of these members signed a contract saying they could be kicked off tour and responsible for getting home themselves if they did something like refusing to perform means the mangement is incompetent? I think it means the members were just too comfortable with doing as they pleased with no respect for the organization and the management was right in not allowing them on the bus.
  8. Not yet a parent however I did march capital regiment in '09 and revolution in '10. From everything bad people hear about both these corps once you've been there first hand none of these problems ever are as bad as they seem to people on the outside of the corps. I remember several times last year when we were locked out of our buses or had no housing sites or no idea where we going and how we were getting there. We spent several mornings in california just chilling in walmart parking lots looking for somewhere to rehearse and shower. Point is this stuff happens all the time and while people are saying no one was in charge I dont believe for a minute Bryan would just abandon the corps without a supervisor
  9. I'm pretty sure there is a section in the member contract where it states members can be thrown off of tour and required to find their own transportation home for things like refusing to perform. Since every member has to fill out this paperwork (and parents too if the member is under 18) then the members and their parents already knew if they refused to perform then they could be kicked off tour and required to find their own transportation home.
  10. What the hell? I wish we got woken up at 9. The Latest I ever got to sleep in on tour was 10 AM and that was because we didnt get to the housing site til 8. Other than that it was 7 AM sharp everyday
  11. Having marched cap reg in 2009 I can tell you Rick Bays takes very excellent care of his members. Unlike a lot of Corps that run their operations like a business, Rick treated the entire drum corps like his own family. We always had tons of food, at every meal we always had enough for the entire corps to eat seconds if they wished. We always had a safe housing site and we were always allowed for more than enough sleep. Rick Bays is a wonderful man, he provided the drum corps with more than what it needed to survive. He gave the members everything they needed to be healthy, happy, and successful. I also marched Revolution in 2010 and I must say whatever problems they had with feeding the corps in 2009 they fixed for 2010. We always had a #### load of food for every meal. Most of the time we had so much food that everybody got seconds, some people got thirds and we still had to throw away tons of food after the meal.
