  1. Sadly, just because they have an assigned practice location doesn't mean that's where they are located. Caballeros and Buccaneers are elsewhere, but we did locate Cadets 2 at Norton.
  2. @N.E. -- Your assumption about the area is correct. Frontier is closer to the downtown corporate area and adjacent to Kodak, unfortunately things change rapidly beyond Sahlen's.
  3. There was indeed a local Fife and Drum organization in the parade: http://www.towpathvolunteers.org/ The Statesmen Alumni closed out the parade much to the delight of those feeling their absence this year. Sadly, RPD felt the need to blare their sirens in attempt to move them along during their 2nd song at the grandstand. Poor form, officer, poor form, the fans and corp deserved a few moments of glory. 4. It is 74 and partly cloudy in Rochester....Just saying. We miss you, but the women's Olympic soccer team launched their victory tour here today. A big event, but wish we had DCA instead.
  5. "an amazing streak that's still going strong: This is year number 24 that the Empire Statesmen have finished in the Top 4." Dale thanks for sharing that amazing tidbit, I had no idea!! Congrats to the Statesman! We love you!!!
  6. Sorry to say, the local radar shows quite a bit of green, so much so that it is also on the national report. Doesn't appear to be ending soon. Perhaps there will be a parking lot encore.
  7. Glad the rain held off, it certainly didn't look promising for the entire weekend.
  8. It has been a pleasure being the host county for DCA for the last several years. Rochester will certainly miss you next Labor Day weekend. I hope you have enjoyed visiting us, as much as we have enjoyed having you here. Who knows, perhaps Annapolis isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Ya'll come back now, ya hear?
  9. All the previous mentioned restaurants are wonderful. If you are looking for something higher end, we LOVE Next Door Bar and Grill on Monroe Ave. Unique and varied menu, also great sushi, appletinis and their pastry chef and servers are amazing. If you haven't seen it before, check out the FAMOUS flagship Wegmans across the street. If you are willing to venture northeast to Wayne County on 104, there is a little hole in the wall BBQ spot called Bad to the Bone. It looks a little scary on the outside, but inside it is very clean in a picnic table kind of way. The ribs, pulled pork and chicken are AMAZING!! Don't expect a Dino, Sticky Lips or Dave's atmosphere, just great food, nice people and fair prices. Welcome and Enjoy!!
  10. Thanks for creating this string! I love to search out the corps spread across the community each championship, very sad this may be the last one that we host. Imagine my delight to hear a Corp when I took my lunch break today. I was thrilled to find the CT Hurricanes practicing in Webster! After the hurricane Irene chaos of the last week, they are making up for lost time at the new Basket Road stadium just north of 104. I understand that they will be there again at 830a Saturday. ENJOY!!
