  1. I've heard from some that Jay-Z, despite his immense popularity, is very down to earth and loyal to his fans... this may turn out better than expected.
  2. As much as I enjoy the idea of a DCI World Championship being out west, I doubt it will happen. From a marketing standpoint, broadcasting the Quarterfinals live would be a nightmare past the Central Time Zone. Eastern Time Zone Quarterfinals: 630p to 1130p (EST) - 330p to 830p (PST) Western Time Zone Quarterfinals: 630p to 1130p (PST) - 930p to 230p (EST) No one would watch. It'd be a massive failure for the broadcast.
  3. 2002: Cavaliers 2003: Blue Devils, Cadets, Phantom Regiment 2004: Cavaliers, Santa Clara Vanguard Those six shows really got me into drum corps, with BD03 being my first ever.
  4. Man, I forgot what ###### rome DCP. I've watched this site for years, and I should have known better. Christ.
  5. I'm not saying Cadets "shouldn't" have won. It was incredibly well deserved. My favorite show of the season, actually. But, in your opinions, why should a different show have won? Not everyone enjoyed the Cadets, so why should their corps have won? And if you did like the Cadets, if one show was to beat them, what show should it have been?
  6. After a momentous season and an edge-of-your-seat World Championship, the Cadets have taken the 2011 Gold. However, there were some other shows out there that truly had some magic in them as well. So, not as a slight to any of the performers this year (especially the Cadets), but a nod to a show that might not have been your favorite, but could have earned Gold in your eyes. I'll start: Phantom Regiment should have won. Their program was simply beautiful from top to bottom; with the return of the all female guard to the beautiful uniforms, and some killer storytelling. I thought "Juliet" was just magic.
  7. I'm not crazy about any of them, really. Blue Stars: fun, but poorly executed. Blue Knights: interesting, but not top 5 material. Bluecoats: 'Creep' was the most overhyped song I can think of, and it's good... but that's the only high point in the show Blue Devils: boring... even my wife (a casual fan) thought they were a snooze-fest.
  8. Overall, I dug it. Looks to be a killer show! I'm curious, though: what's the deal with all the concussion talk? Did something happen? I was one of the first 150 to jump on, and they were discussing that some of the members had concussions and were watching from the stands, explaining the holes in the drill. Anyone know what happened? I can't imagine it's related to the Trooper's bus accident... is it?
  9. Mmmm... so far SCV, BD, Cavies, and PR have my favorites. I don't really like the Colts'... a little boring... plus, I don't enjoy the uniforms. Oh well, best of luck to them all!
