Guard moments are cleaner and nicer than horn moments. Maybe they practiced in some super heat and have chopped liver chops. Hopefully, the MJ reprise at the end will redeem.

I was at the show also. I don't know what you're talking abt. Scores are not based on what the crowd likes or doesn't. I'm not a huge fan of BD this year, but I know they are head and shoulders above the rest. Phantoms show is too easy. Vanguard is coming on, but their brass demand is nowhere near crown n BD. Cavies look and sound very young. Guard isnt what it's been. I had a great seat fornthisnshownand everyone around me gave BD a nice ovation. No boos around me, must have been in the bando highschool area.

I was at the show. See SCV moving up in score, eventually to fourth. Phantoms drums are just bad, and their visual won't clean anymore. Crown in solid second to a BD corps that is giving a dissertation in performance art. Like em or hate em, they are tight!!!

Well, except that no one in Austin agrees with the moronic Texas state board of education. All appointees of our D student governor.

I also live in ATX. Moved here in 2007 and can't imagine living anywhere else. Especially since we live downtown and take advantage of all that the city has to offer. I promise that you would never think that Austin is anything like D or H. Both are just giant stripmall cities. Anyway, looking forward to the RRock show tomorrow and then Houston and SA. BTW, went running on our "in city" greenbelt today and we actually had a foot of water in the Barton Creek. Unbelievable for this time of year. Last year, it was over 100 every day. This year, our city welcomes you as a green, warm oasis.

Hope that field isn't TOO wet! BTW, did they replace the grass with synthetic? I marched there in high school with Oak Ridge High in Orlando.

One day, all of you will be old enough to stop using terms like "i hate BD", "I hate Cadets".....you will then go to drum corps shows and appreciate what the KIDS are doing. The Patriots or any other pro team doesn't have to put out videos like this because they are paid to act and feel this way at all times. I gaurantee you that most of the kids in corps that place from 10-25 wish they were in a world class corps placing in the top three every year. BTW, I'm actually a big Crown honk (lived in Charlotte many years), but I appreciate what BD, Cavies, Cadets and hopefully Crown, puts out there every year. It's a winners attitude and sometimes it requires false hype and ego boosting to create an aura of invincibility. I'm glad that BD considers last year as motivation, that's the competitive spirit that gets most Americans out of bed every day. If you think world class drum corps isn't about placement and wins, then you've never sat on a tour bus. Period.

The Cavies are a professional production company that will fix what ailes them. If you think these kids joined Cavies to come in 5th or lower, you're dreaming. Cavies will be the corps that climbs all the way to finals. Won't win, but they will please the drum corps audience with another athletic, masculine, toe-tapping show. The summer has just begun.
