  1. Regarding your quote: "Bluecoats don't typically improve as much as SCV at the end of the season. " And you base this on what exactly? We'll see... Bluecoats have proven, once again, how deep this organization is. Don't bet against them. None other than Mr. Boo commented in his blog how much they've come on within the past few weeks. The staff and kids have everything to do with it. I, for one, am looking forward to the remainder of the season to see how things play out. It's going to be a spirited battle for many placement spots this year.
  2. What Blue Devils are doing this year is innovative. Like any art form, some will like it, some won't. What good art does is invoke an opinion - not indifference. For that, BD proves, once again, that they're champions at the art of drum corps. You may not being singing their show music in the shower, but anyone can share an appreciation for how well they perform. All they've done is execute beautifully since their 1st show of the year. I commend BD for their excellence!!!
  3. The DCI Southeastern Championship in the Atlanta Georgia Dome was fantastic. Over 16,000 fans packed the drum corps side of the stadium. Fabulous show for sure! One thing though: Is it possible for the Georgia Dome to provide a back sideline curtain (as does Lucas Oil Stadium) to improve the acustics? The echo in the Georgia Dome seems heavier than in Indy. I'm not complaining ... just wondering if anything can be done to make it even better. I'll be back next year in Atlanta for sure. Hopefully, DCI can break 20,000 fans in 2013 at this show! PS - I'm not a dome-hater! In fact, having the show in a dome makes it better for fans coming from long distances since there's no chance of a rainout - or makeup date. Not to mention AIR CONDITIONING (NICE)!!!
  4. I don't expect the top 12 to change from where it is now. Although, I'm looking forward to new challengers, wishing them well. There may be a little change in the top 12 placement - great battles going on 1-2, and 3-6, 7-9, and certainly 12-14 or so, but those that are top 12 are solidly finalists this year. Regarding Cavies chasing Bloo and SCV? Not going to happen. Both Bluecoats and SCV shows are superior this year. That's not taking anything away from the Cavs - I happen to enjoy their show. However, there's a good reason why they have placed behind Bloo and SCV this year. As always, hat's off to all performers - they work their tails off for us fans! Kudos!!!
