  1. Hurcs 90.90 Scouts 87.05 (1 pt penalty) Windsor 78.70 Bush 76.00 Sun 71.70 Excelsior 63.70
  2. Gonna be a while for Bpt scores. Hurcs just finished. Filled in the hornline since last week. Nice job tonight. Guard seemed a little less crisp than so far this season.
  3. Just saw KS in Bpt. For real top 5 stuff. 50-ish home, including 8 tubas. Baris get a litlle overexcited once in a while, but not egregiously. EXCELLENT guard of about 20. Smallish battery, but solid. Hurcs will have to really bring it tonight, but they just might .. . .
  4. Just saw Kidsgrove in Bpt. Serious top 5 stuff. 50 or so horns, very good 20-ish in the guard (VERY good), smallish bit really solid battery. Hurcs will have to really bring it tonight. And they just might...
  5. Chicken ! I will go on record promising right now to make my predictions about 11:30 PM September 2nd. HOURS before Mr. Haring. So there
  6. Will we see YOU in a few hours ? Come join us for a great drum corps afternoon!
  7. Six competing corps, two great exhibitions, and here's my annual reminder - The only drum corps show with a view of the Empire State Building from every seat!!! AND its one of the least expensive shows all summer - Come on out and spend the afternoon with us .
  8. Don't listen to that man. The Cabs have done nothing but play softball all season. So don't come to Secaucus on Sunday. There's nothing to see . I keed, I keed - BE THERE .
  9. Tear it up Saturday, Cabs! See you in Scranton!!!! Yours Truly, Legion Flag Guy
  10. '84 Cabs - My favorite show EVER '81 Hurricanes - Amazing performance. I know there are still some bad feelings even 31 years later about the way they came out of "nowhere" to take the title that year, but they proved the old saw, "On any given night . . . ". And it would be so cool to see Pepe Notaro ham it up again! '91 Cabs - My favorite show to have performed in. Someone would have to be me, though, so I could see it
  11. And I get two negs for MY joke!?! Good one
  12. DCA hates them, remember ? OK, seriously - Still undertime? (Just guessing)
  13. Of course, I saw that myself, too - Heard it, too, but since it was a private conversation, I'll just say that his comments to Glen, Chris, & Laura were as classy and sportsmanlike as was the gesture itself of rushing over to make sure to be the first to congratulate them
  14. Wow! It's the rare occasion on which I find myself in such total agreement with you . (Except for the drum corps falling apart stuff) . Yes, ANY new corps is a great thing. One that scores a 72-something at its first show EVER is even better. As I said to a few C2 members Saturday night while switching from one task to the next, "Welcome to DCA!". And I hope people from most other corps took a second to do the same.
  15. Hoping to hit SDW after Cabs' rehearsal. Maybe Mrs. & I will see some of you there!
  16. Actually, I've heard Allentown WILL be there, disguised as "INT", to get around DCA's (AKA "The Man's") plans to keep them down .
  17. Please allow me . If you're early, like you mentioned (around 3:00), you should be able to find a prime spot IN Central High School's lot. If you enter from Lincoln Blvd, follow the one-way roadway through all the way around, and you'll end up in the lot behind the grandstand. If you enter from Madison Ave, you'll be in that lot as soon as you get in the gate. PLENTY of good Italian restaurants on Madison Ave - Don't know about 3:00, though. Just take a walk up Mad Ave and see if someone's open. Plenty safe - I grew up in that hood, and I turned out mostly OK Most importantly, welcome back to the 'port! Enjoy the show, and don't forget to stop by the souvie tables and show the corps some love!!!
