  8. QUOTE(sunbari1 @ Apr 25 2005, 06:04 PM) Larry, all 4 contra spots are filled. The 4th guy will be down in May. Besides, I don't think you could handle carrying one anyway, you can barely carry a snare drum anymore. I can still march! I just don't like parades!!!!!
  9. I was very impressed by how efficiently the staff ran rehearsal and by how well the drill was executed, both music and marching. I was also impressed by you Andrea - yes - you are pretty cool! I think there is a contra opening but no, I will not be filling it!
  10. Good thing Chis - you would have had to get naked!!!! b**bs
  11. Amy, Great pictures! Thanks for taking the pictures AND for posting them!
  12. Check with Ski. Bucs took high drums that year. 81? Still the most talented hornline I've ever had the honor to listen to. I know alot of those guy (and girls) marched in 84 when I joined. Sunrisers took High Drums in 1979 - Bucs had a great show to win DCA but not in drums. Sun also won drums in 1981.
  13. Ahh 89! What a year! The remarkable thing is that both corps maintained their dignity and friendships thoughout both ties (88 &89) and there was a mutual respect between the corps. The only regret I had in 89 was that at finals they did not announce there had been a tie and explain that Bush had won because of the tie-break rule. Still a year filled with excellent corps.
  14. That ain't quite the way I heard it. 3 guys from Sky (Butch Anderson, Wes Myers and one other) were jumped by members of Sun swinging horns and fists and connecting! Cos saw what was going on and turned the Cabs loose to assist 3 very out-numbered Skyliners. That's the version that was told to me, by Cabs and Sky alike. Again, I wasn't there, but that's what I was told. I have no idea what or who instigated the ensuing melee. Ray very correct ray Not even close to the truth - except for Cabs coming down off the hill.
