I couldn't agree more! It was a long time ago!

The year was 1977. the rest I'll leave alone...

I marched 15 years in junior - 1957 - 1972 - then 38 years in DCA with the Sunrisers.

Moderators, As the purpose of this thread was simply to announce the Sunrisers 2010 plans, I request that this thread be closed.

The Sunrisers Drum & Bugle corps will not be fielding a competitive DCA corps for the 2010 season. While the Sunrisers maintain a nucleus of members, this difficult decision was made due to several unsuccessful attempts to recruit additional members in order to put out a product that meets the high standards of both the Sunrisers Organization and DCA. The Sunrisers Organization will continue to explore opportunities to perform this summer and to prepare for the 2011 season. The Organization is also exploring ways to further our ties with the local communities. Our thanks go out to everyone for their dedication and continued support of the Sunrisers Organization.

Glen, So sorry for your loss.

On behalf of the L.I. Sunrisers, I wish Rick and the Brigadiers the best in getting that great organization back on the field! The Brigadiers were very helpful to the Sunrisers by booking us for their shows and I personally am sorry to hear they are not fielding this year. Hurry back - you will be missed!!

This weekend we will start learning the new show - I can't wait!!

Ray, As long as Fran doesn't come dressed in his Ski Mask Cadets uniform we'll be fine!!

Fran, It would be great to see you! We'll have a chunk of the first number to learn at rehearsal also!

11 Days - it will be a great time to meet the excellent staff and administration.

It's going to be exciting!! ABSOLUTELY!! I have been to Open House for over 38 years and everyone of them brings on a combination of happiness - in seeing old friends come back, anticipation - in wondering what the turnout will be and who will attend, and excitement - in beginning a new season and finding out what the show will be! The day that I no longer have those feelings is the time to stop doing drum corps.
