I tried to get it back on the "what to look for tonight" a page or 2 ago...that lasted about as long as it took me to hit "post".... 🙂

Great discussion on Allentown, but in the hopes the show happens and the weather is decent for all performances, here's what I will be looking for tonight: BK vs. PC vs. Academy? BK hasn't performed for a few days and PC had a disappointing score comparatively against Crossmen 2 days ago. Can both BK and PC break 84 today to stay in the race. What order will they finish at this event as they've traded it a few times this year. Will we see any changes to either show ramping up to Indy? Academy - they've been off the radar for a while but their scores are slowly ramping up and have had some good increases the past week. With how many of the other 12-16 corps having 2 and 3 pt jumps in 1 competition, is this Academies turn to get back in the discussion? PCs has recently and previously been beat based on percussion scoring 1.5 to 2 lower than BK and Crossmen. They have reduced that to .5 vs. X-men but now have suffered in other categories, so can they get all of them going in the same show? Troopers vs. Blue Stars Blue Stars have hit a scoring wall recently while Troopers and Colts are seeing their scores continue to go up. Will this be the show Troopers pass them? or based on the head to head will Blue Stars get that score bump and open up a gap Cavaliers - Do they keep the momentum going? It's a different night from the other corps competing for the 5-7/8 spot so we won't get a direct comparison but will Cavies be able to post a great score tonight to put pressure on the other 3. Thinking anything more than 92 would really put them in serious 5-8 contention going into next week. Right now they are a solid 8 with hints at pushing in. I know others will say they are there already but I am not 100% sold on it yet. Good thing is I'm not a judge and it doesn't matter what I think 🙂 Devils and Coats - 95 has been posted by a couple corps in the last 2 days so what will the spread be tonight. Will Coats post another 95 and does this mean Devils go 96 or 97 before Indy even starts? or is the gap now closer than the 1 pt we saw earlier from BD vs. BAC? Weather Affect If tonight happens but weather causes some issues (i.e. no tarps, color guard issues, delays, and etc.) will the same judging panel take that into account for tomorrow's scores knowing it will impact Indy, or can they dehumanize their thoughts and eliminate the weather impact from the previous night to score Saturday nights activity? I know everyone will say what they should do, but humans are humans and while I think there are a few that challenge that premise, at the end of the day the judges are only human.

Haha...truth @Chief Guns. I would list BD about #.....well, lets say very low on my list of favorite corps. But I've said since the first time I saw them in person this year that they are blowing me away with this years show and execution. I have had to begrudgingly admit to my friend (son marches BD) that they have a great (cough) show and that they are probably as much a sure thing for the win as I've seen in forever (and this is with every corps quality being elevated!). This may be the first show of theirs in a long time where I will go out of my way to watch it once the season ends....I think coming into this year I would have been closer to "BD Hater" than "BD Homer"! Also, having a kid march DCI changes how I have viewed all corps. Now I grow admiration for each corp for different reasons! It goes from Ugh, not them again, to "would that be a corp that I would trust and want my kid to march for....".

Best part of the 5-7 battle is those are 3 of my favorite shows this year so getting to see them in a row and having them throw haymakers at each other all the way through Indy will be a joy and Highlight of our finals experience! As will seeing PC in Lucas Oil and putting a finishing touch on this amazing season regardless of if they make Saturday or not!

Not true, I 100% know what GE means. It means that whenever my kids band is in a competition that my heart rate will go up 120% because of not having a clue what their GE score will be!

Thanks for the pictures @Den8uml. I would say the scores in general only matter with regards to how the corps competing in the same conditions do. So Sinners and Aliens being close still makes for a great end of season battle!

Yeah, probably didn't word that clearly. I was talking the PC/BK, Cavies/Troopers/Blue Stars, finalied with a cherry of Devils and Coats. Wonder how that would impact prelims order.

Mandarins and Phantom scores low compared to yesterdays Cadets. Hope it was due to wind and we see them back within tenths of each other after Allentown. Too bad it looks like Friday could be severely impacted by rain and we will lose those battles!

Uh, excuse me but there is nothing boring about Rico's canned cheese with jalapenos sitting in a nacho machine that probably hasn't been cleaned properly since 1997 with jalapenos in an open areas that everyone has breathed on!!! that is pure "you better hope you're within 1.5 hours of home" bliss!!!!!

Is it bad when you get excited that someone says they are throwing 8s and 9s and then pause and go "wait, I'm a brass guy, I have no clue what an 8 or 9 is but it sounds hard!!!".....

It will make for an epic Prelims/Finals. When was the last time we had so much vested interest in so many battles!!!!!!!!!

Man, I google stalked the recent Anderson, IN...the Hardees and Cracker Barrel are still there, ha. But sadly Chi Chi's Mexican restaurant is no more! 🙂 I don't even recognize it anymore. Looks like all the GM plants closed and got bought out and the mall as I knew it is closed! I guess 30 years does that to a town!

Yeah, I wish I had that spreadsheet with judges patterns for this year. I might have to nerd out and make it before prelims and then see who is assigned and what their pattern is...I am trying hard not to nerd out on it..that would be a huge time pull and could get crazy! 🙂 I am still saying Corps Clash needs this as a pay option!

bwahahahaha....Anderson, Indiana...I co-op'ed there in college in the 90s. I might have to go back and see how much has changed! And after trying white castle 10 years after my first experience, yeah "ICK"

Hey PC, we know you are working to get those scores back up and I believe you have that big point jump in you!!!! Bring it on and continue this historic season!

On this, I did hear from some regulars last year that there was a snafu for entry on one of the days where people showed up 1.5 hours early and still missed the corps they wanted to see. So in this instance either show up earlier (2 to 3 hours), or be prepared to walk up to the front of a slow moving line if you are getting short on time and hope to find understanding people who will let you cut in knowing you want to see your kid perform. Some parents missed their kids performance last year because they didn't try to find understanding people. This is band and DCI, everyone understands how important it is for a parent to see their kids perform!!!!!
