Mike's advice is correct. While I understand your obvious concern over the issue, the best way to guarantee results is to contact the corps with your dilemma. While DCP is certainly a place for open discussion, issues that are individual in nature (like this one) will probably be better handled by corps administration and board members. To that end, I'm going to close the thread; I hope you'll understand the reasoning behind it. Thanks, everyone.

Dunno OP . . .I actually dislike the Cavaliers use of synth/voice more than anyone else this year. BD doesn't bother me, really. I understand how you feel; perhaps taking a year or two off may let you come back with a different perspective on things.

Brass numbers look nice for Crossmen. . . .percussion gets Crown again. About what I expected.

Agree. Bocook really shines in this kind of "knitting together" that we do in our idiom . . .his transitions are some of my favorite ever (of course, I cut my teeth before I knew what drum corps was listening to his stuff for marching band on the Jensen LPs in the 80s . . .god, I'm old. ).

. . . the brass arrangements are extremely well done; however, the electronics and bravado . . .well, that does seem forced to me and make the corps seems more "finesse" then previous years. The ending does seem to say "look, remember that time we danced? And you liked it? And remember that time we did the other cool thing?" . . .so it seems (to me) that it coasts a bit on the "Dude, we're Cavaliers!" thing. Then again, Jersey Surf does the same thing at the end of their show. However, with the Cavaliers show . . .it just seems tacked on. Well, there's always next year.

Yeah, I think the Madison "brand" has been re-established now, so next year there's no need to go to the well again, so to speak. I know that design team can come up with something absolutely amazing for 2013.
