  10. For the record AGAIN: Fever will be going on tour and doing ALL the shows they are signed up for. DCI can fine corps up to $5000 per show but has not done so EVER! The newspaper misdirected some of my uneducated comments and that is why it made DCI look bad. I am truly sorry for any negativity this may have given DCI. For all of you who are critical of DCI, please note that FEVER and every corps is a part of DCI, WE ARE DCI! And please note that Dan A. was extremely helpful in expediting some funds that we had been waiting for to help us with our trip. (It's funny how we fear and hate what we may not understand in order to feel better about ourselves.) For those wondering, we raised over $10,000 in 2 days. Now, lets all get back to watching some drum corps shows.
  11. For the record: Fever does need the funds to go. We have been working really hard and it looks like Fever will be going to Boston to show the East Coast what we have got! DCI said they would fine us $5000 a show if we did not go on the northern tour, which would have made it easy to go to Boston. So we are planning for the worst if we do not go on the "big" tour. The bus company is allowing us to pay while the corps is on tour, so we have a team of dedicated parents that are staying back to make sure FEVER will be HOT in Boston! I don't take NO for an answer, so be ready for when FEVER shows up at your door!
  12. Valley Fever was around in 1981. They started as a winter guard in 1979. Went to nats in 1980 and made top 24 in 1981. So why wait!
  13. My rookie year.... It's all still a blur... I do remember drinking beer in the olympic stadium in Montreal watching a great DCI Finals! I was only 14! The thing that makes that memory great is that last year, I sat and watched DCI Finals in Denver with my rookie 14 year-old son! I had a beer!
  14. You remember live birds being released during the Skyriders closer… um, I mean exit.
  15. I started to download this, then I realized that i better not do this at work. Too many under 18 yr olds in my class.
  16. OH! Take your time. That gives us a chance to sell more of our suvies! ^0^
  17. All those interested in doing Fever Drum and Bugle Winter Guard we are having our first meeting and rehearsal this Sunday, November 30th at Modesto High School Come one come all! Modesto High School 18 H Street Modesto CA, 95351 10am - till?
  18. You are welcome! At last count, we have 100 brass members on our list who want to march next year! It's crazy because we haven't even had our first meeting. This is a list of names that was gathered by the kids who marched last season. They are recruiting their ##### off for 2004! FYI: Fever just bought a new line of Yamaha drums for the next season. You can check them out this winter, as Fever will be fielding a winter drum line and winter guard! b**bs
  19. Anyone remember Phantom in 81, 82, or 83 Whitewater? (Sorry I can’t remember, I was young and was too interested in the bus rides to pay attention to anything.) b**bs A contra was backing up between some tenor drums and had to do a spin. Caught the drum and fell. As he was going down, he launched his horn straight into the air. The funniest and scariest thing I have ever seen. That horn must have gone 10 feet into the air. He got back up and continued the rest of the show!
