  14. 'zactly...using EVDO. Sprint AirCards rock !!! The weather is awesome. It rained a great deal last night in the mountains of VA and West VA. Right now, just out side of Buffalo, you couldn't pick a more prefect drum corps day. Scattered clouds, light brees, feels like mid 70's. I'm ready to rehearse !!!
  15. …have laptop and AirCard, will travel Hey Gang, The CorpsVets are well on our way to DCA Championships. Our busses pulled out at 8:30pm Wednesday night to begin our 18 – 20 hour odyssey to Rochester. We should be pulling in to the DoubleTree sometime mid-afternoon today (8/31/06). This year, CV is bringing a little Las Vegas to New York. We can’t wait to share our show with you. See you on the 50 !!! Just in case you are wondering, 18 hours on a bus…what to do, what to do, what to do…. Watch movies and surf the web… Have lots of fun and interesting conversation See strange vehicles on the interstate (this one makes me hungry) Watch BigKen pass the time away
  16. The "Parking Lot Performance" after finals...almost as fun as performing in the stadium b**bs Note to other DM's go to Wal-Mart and buy a couple packages of "Glow Sticks." These work as great glow in the dark batons for the nite-time parking lot performance.
  17. Don't get me wrong...I wasn't doubting the set up, or prep for the weekend. It was just a general question/curiosity I had on my part (as a drum major, I just love being as close to the fans as possible b**bs ). Hey, I'm a project manager by trade, I am well aware of the "magic" that can happen with proper planning. From all indications thus far, I don't doubt for one minute that this will be the best championship weekend that I have had the pleasure to attend/be a part of...the information that you guys have given the participating corps in advance has been top notch (I'm also Tour Director for the corps...the up-front info has been a HUGE help for me, and much appreciated!!!). Championship weekend will be AWESOME !!!
  18. Silly question...how do you turn a soccer field into a football field (AKA, how will the field be lined for prelims and finals)? If I remember correctly, a football field from sideline to sideline can fit “inside” a soccer field. Whenever I see these fields marked for both uses (football and soccer) the football lines are centered on the soccer field. If this is done the same way at championships, what kind of distance are we looking at from the football sideline to the first row in the stadium? Could be kinda far… Oh yeah, according to their schedule, there is a Rhino home game the day before prelims…the grounds/field lining crew is going to have a long night.
  19. Hey there...I'm one of the CV drum majors (the guy in the upper left on our show poster [see my avatar])...look me up in RaChaCha. I need to buy you a beer b**bs
  20. I know of one choir that will be there...can you say CORPSVETS !!! Champions since 2001 b**bs them there fellers from down south kin SANG b**bs
