The show is definitely top 4 material. Depending on what they do with it the next few weeks will determine whether it can be a championship show. Also, I could see this being a sort of transition year for the cadets, with some new staff coming aboard and experimenting with different things, road bumps are to be expected. I think the Cadets will be very enjoyable this year and I will love hearing them live on finals night

I was going to give my thoughts, but I will wait to do so until Thursday when the audio quality ​won't be terrible

My one complaint is that they need to do a better job at drawing attention to the characters and to the story as a whole. I'll see some story elements but it takes me several views to see them and I have to actually look for them.

Not trying to slight their theme. I love the Cadets show this year. I was replying to lumbargleeful who said that it's surprising Crown does as well as they do with subpar programming because in his opinion it's "bando as hell" and doesn't give them a "vehicle to succeed" even though they're in the running every year and are consistently a crowd favorite. I could have compared it to any theme It did come off as negative though so I apologize

Yeah super bando. Let me guess, every corps you don't like is super bando? A western vengeance story is really bando but statues coming to life is a super deep, dark story that should be in an art museum for centuries to come. Give it a rest, it's drum corps and Crown typically has the crowd favorite. That sounds like pretty great programming to me.

Ok, my thoughts for the show after watching it 3 times. The brass sounds absolutely amazing. The percussion seems MUCH improved. The guard is fantastic and they seem to be growing off of last year's success. It's only June so they STILL have room to grow. Visually, it's very clean for June and I'm sure they have much more to add which is exciting. The drill is intense and challenging which is a much needed change from last year. The opener is the cleanest part of the show so far. Roxanne is sounding fantastic and many props go to the Trombone Soloist. Awesome Sound. The ballad is haunting, sad, and beautiful. The closer. Holy notes. Like dear Jesus. Holy crap. The closer was put on the field fairly recently so it's only going to get better from here. I'm excited to see where the show goes from here this season. I think this will win it all. I also think that this show has the chance to go down as one of the greatest shows of all time IF it meets its potential that is so evidently on display already.

I'm aboard the hype train. This is my favorite show in a LONG time. I'm going to watch it a few more times before I give my thoughts

I can bet that every single corps member is beyond proud to be wearing those uniforms so no, they are not embarrassingly bad. Personal preference is not fact.

I LOVE the Cavaliers new uniforms. THAT is the definition of modern while keeping with tradition

It sucks that the show is never finished in time for tour but I do think that it helps them peak at the right time

They look amazing from the field though and they really enhance the whole visual package

So how about the content, since last I checked this forum was about Drum Corps and not about the definition of a podcast. I liked what he had to say about Phantom and I hope that his take on it will be what Phantom conveys on the field

Very much like what Herk said. They played about the first 5 minutes. I feel as if this show will be much like "That one second" where they learn the bare bones of the show first and flesh it out throughout the season, adding meaning and effect. The opener with the tarp is very cool and it will be even better as it gets cleaner. The entrance into Gorgon is sudden and sets the mood for the show immediately. Uniforms work very well from the stands. The goldenthal is sounding good and I'm very excited to see how the show unfolds throughout the season. I wanted to get footage tonight but unfortunately my audio wasn't working. Thanks technology.
