So...I bought a ticket to the show at MTSU knowing I had a business trip the following Sunday. Today I received an email saying my departure date is now on that Friday in the morning. It sucks. Dan literally ran everyone off that didn’t bow down to him. The DCI community knew about this and that’s why no one wanted to get hired there.

It’s literally the job of an alumni association to reach out to former members.

This implies they have the $$ to spend.

Bc one of them put the corps in the mess they are in now.

Just watched the video from the premiere. This show is a hot mess.

IMHO, their music book ranges somewhere between elevator music and a college marching band halftime show. Standing around on boxes instead of marching isn’t helping.

They’ve been heading that way since ‘13. Don’t say I didn’t warn everyone.

Considering the press releases from the corps have stated multiple times that this show is about female empowerment, I think the staff has once again embarrassed themselves. They’re putting out videos of MM’s telling stories about all the influential women in their lives. How could they forget to have a female composer’s work in their program? Shows should work on many levels of interests, so including at least one female composer should have been a no-brainer. And btw, being PC is a good thing. It’s called having manners and respect for others. People who have issues with it are often projecting their “I can’t be an insensitive jerk anymore” attitude. Identity politics is about bringing attention to the gaps in society between the majority and minorities. If it offends you, take a moment to reflect why it does.

I know it’s not a true predictor, but you have to wonder how well they’re planning everything else.

If past performance is an indicator...

The only piece that gives me pause is the one from Rocky. Worried it’ll make the show a bit hokey.

I just want them to have competent design that’s performed well & a music book that does not rely on any piece used in the past. Am I asking too much?
