I've heard several rumors about the 1989 Blue Devils solo, i want to know wut really happened. Any information is greatly appreciated

I had a jupiter trumpet for my first horn, it was alright, i liked it, but know i have a yamaha and like it better but Jupiters play fine.
-
Same thing with me, i just learn it. When i first starting marching though its wierd, i learned my music in my sleep. I looked at it for a good hour before i went to sleep, and some how in my subconscience(spelling) mode i learned it, and when i start to play, its already memorized. Its wierd how that works, but it worked. I dont do that anymore, i just memorize my music during rehersal after playing it for a while.

I own a silver yamaha trumpet, a silver pocket cornet dont remember the brand, i have an F mello which i took from my school, but i consider it mine cause i dont think i'll ever give it back, and i want to get a flugelhorn.... but if i stay on pace i'll have to save money for about 2 years , so i dont know when i can get one. :(

I dont know him personally, but i know who he is, he played really well. Is your boyfriend in Cadets?

Best Star hornline during the drum corps years??
RaiderLex replied to WoofInTheWoods's topic in Brass Forum
In my opinion, star kicked major ###, and could've been champs every year from 90-93!!! But back on topic i liked 86, 87 and 91 -
well, i need to play some long tones for at least 5 mins, then after that get some slurs and articulations in there, so i'll be good to go in about 20 mins

French Horn

i think BD 96, 97,01 ummm... cadets 00,01,02, phantom 01, they are all close in my point of view
-
I agree i think those horns are bad ### dude!!!!
-
They werent undefeated in brass....i believe Cadets beat them once!!!

Bach strads are great trumpets, just not for marching. I know what u mean about heavyness, during marching band season, i made a a bet with friend saying i can hold a baritone at playing position for 10 mins. I held it, but i was sore like a *****!!!!!!
-
Let me rephrase that...Who marches Bach Strads?
-
Why would a corps march bach strads?

I was readin one of these in the percussion forum, and i was thinking, pretty soon im gonna have to start looking into colleges. What suggestions would you give me for a college. To major in Music education, what colleges do you guys go to, or what colleges have you been to with good musical programs. Thank You.

So if you heard better ones, would you at least bother to say which ones they are?!

I must also add that the ML6V is a great mouthpice. I get good tone quality in the low register, and also the high register, i dont know if its the mouthpiece but i can hit a double high A with it. And i think sounds good. Not that i play too much in the high register, but i do test my limits. I dont think i would ever trade for another mouthpiece.

I figure since i started a cadet one i should start a BD one...my favorite Bd hornline was 2002
-
I've seen the Cadets in 98,'00'01, and '02, and my favorite is cadets 2002 , what is your favorite cadet hornline?
-
I do not know much about drum corps before 2000(thats when i first found out about it). I've havent heard many shows, but the ones i like best are the following... 1. Cavies2002 2.Phantom regiment 1996 3. Cadets 2000 4. Cavies 2000 5. Star 1991 6. BD 1996 7.BD 1997 8.Phantom regiment 2001 Its not in a specific order

I myself am a high brass player but dont listen much to contras, but BD had an amazing contra section, that i even noticed them. Also, phantom, cavies and cadets had a good line
