  1. cowtown, You have done an excellent job at accusing the corps of violating the DCI rulebook... However, you have yet to point to the exact phrase that you feel has been violated.
  2. I used Kayak.com to book every one of my flights from Philadelphia to Oakland for BD camps for the past 2 years.. http://www.kayak.com/s/flights.jsp?searchi...;completed=true Kayak has your flight starting at 296.00.. flying multiple airlines.. leaving on a Thursday and coming home on a Monday. In order to get rock bottom flights, sometimes you need to leave a day early and come home a day late :) good luck!
  3. Ok. Ok. Ok. I rarely EVER post on here but.. so, after reading all of the interesting posts about how "Easy" a Blue Devil show is.. I feel the need to chime in. being a marathon and ultra marathon runner whom has run several sub 2:50:00 marathons around the nation during the off-season and ran the Boston Marathon this past year.. I can honestly say that marching a Blue Devil show is one of the hardest things someone could ever dream of doing. how do I know? ... I've marched two of them. (2006, 2007) I went into both seasons in peak-- best case scenario-- condition.. and it wasnt nearly enough to even come close to the physical demands put on the group. I'd put the difficultly level WAY over any 50 mile race.. which I sincerely doubt that any of the nay-sayers on this board could even dream of doing. heres an idea folks: put the hard work in.. make the blue devils, and find out for yourself. More importantly.. I am pretty sure that EVERY show in the activity is just as taxing in its own way. Shows may look easy.. the may look hard.. but, I can pretty much guarantee that not one person comes off the field from ANY corps saying "man.. that was easy.." you might not like shows because of thier content.. but dont dare think for one second that they are easy.

  6. this season for crossmen, all the lead trumpets were on a Bach 3C well into spring training. 2 of us then went to a Curry 3CE.
  7. hey guys... I dunno.. I think its all in the player.. and not the mouthpiece.. i play on a small mouthpiece ( Warburton 7MC with an 8 series 80 backbore) and I have a very good tone. My lower range is just as consistant as my upper range, and pedal tones come out great. This may seem like a joke because it is, and I admit, a SMALL mouthpiece.. but, if it works for you... shouldn't you play it? Tony
  8. hey guys They way I learn and memorize parts is to practice. Haha, sounds dumb.. but, it all starts the day after camp.. and goes all the way till the friday night of camp. I designate a few days per one song.. get it down and then move on. The Thurs/Friday before camps are just usually review days. Listening to the midi files before and after practice also helps.. but, not with style... Tony
  9. hey guys, I play on a warburton 7MD with an 8* series 80 backbore. It has great control and is very comfortable for me. __________________________ Tony Jersey Surf Sop 2001,2002 Crossmen Trumpet 2003
