Staff change. The staff from the previous two years weren't asked back and they made all the techs caption heads. Also, new corps director this year. They have Teal sounds last corps director. Terrible design choices being made by the staff. They've set those kids up for failure. That being said, those kids are real troopers going out there night after night. It's not their fault, and they are showing tremendous heart! I applaud them!!!

Except I'm sure Racine intends on performing a full show. They finally got what we assume is the closer on the field for the Dubuque show. Up till that point they had an unfinished show on the field. There's got to be a timing penalty in there somewhere for being under time. They also began competing very early in the season. According to their webpage they had shows back to back with very little rehearsal time in between shows. It doesn't really make any sense. Makes you wonder what the staff and admins are thinking. Also, according to the DCP score comparison they've yet to break their opening night score of a 38.5 from 2014.

Will there still be music scores for a standstill, or no judging at all?

Not true. Their brass caption head resigned back in May and they only had 5-6 horns then. Now the vis guy is pulling double duty as brass/vis caption head. They've hardly had brass the entire time, but idk why.

Looks like they got two more brass. Still unbalanced, but they're good to go for the season as far as minimum membership requirements. It will be interesting to watch their design development

Yeah, but I think that was strictly a kids corps. It was their version of BDC, but with less staff and strictly a local parade corps. None of those kids fed into the junior corps. At least not in 2013-14. All of those kids were from out of state.

They've been struggling for brass numbers since winter audition camps. In May they had 5 or 6. They may have their 30 to compete but I think it's really irresponsible of the staff to put those kids on the field knowing how bad the balance was. They should have focused more on brass recruitment than percussion and limited their numbers based on what brass they had. I'm just wondering what the heck happened from last season? They had close to 50 and even won most improved corps in Open Class
