  1. Well said. I do love this show. Your son must be having such a great time performing it!
  2. I think both too. It is an excellent show. Their best designed show in years in my opinion.
  3. I third this. There were days when I would just wish it were over, then the next day I would wish it would last for ever. The one thing I would add is that you get a rush as you get better and better, especially if you start passing up other corps. That feels great and really propels you through the rest of the season.
  4. I agree - you're only as good as your weakest link. I think it's great that they both do this. More corps should.
  5. While I enjoy PR's show more musically, I enjoy BK's show more visually. Phantom's brass flitters across the fiel plenty this season too.
  6. To be clear, I am not part of the PR organization and I know nothing about it, other than what I see from the stands/my computer screen. I just love them and want them to do well. This year's show will be one I listen to for years to come. I love it musically.
  7. Fair point. I don't get it myself. It would make more sense to me that content scores were much higher in the beginning of the season and the achievement mark would catch up as the season progresses. I know people say when things are being achieved at a higher level more content becomes visible/audible but I don't understand it. I can list to a show or watch a show and tell how's show (IMO) is more difficult. Plus, the content marks change all over the place, one night you're overachieving, then next under.
  8. It is just a discussion, and who cares. Believe me, these kids hear much harder criticism from their own staffs than the do on here. Nothing said any where on here helps anyone or anything in any positive way at any time. It's just a discussion board.
  9. Absolutely not, but I didn't think the 1999 Scouts were in danger of placing 14th 3 years later either, or even 10th the next year.
  10. Me too. I really want them and Madison to return to the top. Was always so fun in the 80's/90's watching those two battle it out. I think it's been since 2005 that Madison beat Phantom - so a long time.
  11. Agreed. IMO they (and Bloo, Cadets, and Crown) should all be beating BD in visual. I think SCV has the best visual program this year, and it should be rewarded.
  12. To each his own, and I felt the same way in the beginning of the season, but the staff at Madison has done a great job this year over the course of the season beefing the show up. It, along with SCV, BK and Phantom (musically - yes I am a huge Phantom fan) are my favorite shows this year. We will see what happens at the end. Like I said above, I am predicting Regiment over Scouts at finals, but those saying it's impossible for Madison to pass Phantom really don't know what they are talking about.
  13. I don't know if I can agree with you there. '08 was a great visual program, as was '07 (my favorite Regiment show ever), '06, '05 and let's not forget '89 or 2012. No, they do not always have visual packages that rival the top corps, but when they do they have tremendous success. I don't need a revolutionary design, I just need a good design. This year it's just not there.
  14. I cared. That show was trash. I can't believe it won, much less with a 99.15. Just kidding. That show was amazing. I still consider it to be the greatest in history.
  15. I think Crown should hang that banner over their auditions hall next year if they don't win this year.
  16. Well, you might believe it by season's end then.
  17. You wouldn't need convincing if you just opened your eyes and ears and watched without bias.
  18. All you need to do is watch to see that Madison has the better designed visual show (much better at that). That's easy to spot. Their drill has better flow, a better design, more demand, and is more interesting. Musically they are on par. I love Regiment's music, but Madison plays more tough stuff on the move than Regiment does. I think they are both loud, so I'm not sure where you're hearing people say that. Guard is hands down in Regiment's favor.
  19. I don't know why you think this is so funny. IMO, Scouts should have beaten Regiment at Atlanta. Their show design is not only better (musically and visually) it's also more difficult (musically and visually). What's saving Regiment is their guard and the talent of their members. Who knows who will win in Indy (I'm betting on Regiment), but I certainly don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for Madison to pass them. They are both on the same level right now.
  20. Winning a ring doesn't matter. I've been a HUGE Regiment fan since I was first introduced to DCI back in '83. I just think they have lost their way. I love this show musically, but visually it is subpar, As we saw with Madison - you snooze, you lose. Big time. I don't want to see that happen to Regiment. It's been a long and tough road back for Madison, and they still aren't all the way back yet.
