I respect your opinions, and I thank you for this post. I can absolutely agree with this. I am hoping that there is good news coming out of their home show today. I'll go back to quietly reading and thank you to all on DCP that always give me great insight, and validate my love for the art and sport of DCI.

I have been a fan of dcp for quite some time. I don't post a lot but I follow many of you and respect all of your opinions and love to be part of this community that shares my passion for Drum Corps. Some of the comments just make me sad. Stu, your take on this whole thing is beyond cynicatl. These eare still people's lives. If you have such an issue with him call his cell phone. Don't impune his character just because you assume the facts are incorrect. From what I've read on many different places he's also the Chairman of the Open Class corps and I'm sure it took him quite a bit to send that message. If you want to believe the worst go ahead - part of what I like about this activity is it brings out the best in people so I will continue to honor that.

I totally agree. Bloo was on target, love Crown also. I think the GE will be impacted as I think Legends was earlier in the day for the same issue. Live by die by, so true.

The same argument could be made with more performances, they get more opportunities to get judges feedback, make changes to improve the show and improve scoring.

Loved Bloo! I've always liked them but they aren't usually in my top 3 but this may be the year, and I still have a few to see. Cadets and Crusaders also had awesome shows. Can't wait to see how they progress. I was in Muncie & Lisle - and I'm die hard Cavie's fan but wasn't crazy about propaganda. (Although I felt it was too much propaganda, so clearly I got the message lol) heard they've made changes so who knows. Love Love Crown- wish they were in FL too. And as far as open class - congrats to Heat Wave on your first season. So great to see open class expanding and growing. I've only seen a few others OC shows Colt Cadets,Genesis & Legends. Watching Legends tonight really impressed me. I remember seeing their show a couple years - Cathedral and I can't believe they're the same Drum Corps. Props to them. I think they'll be one to watch and may finally be a good Challenger to SCVC & BDB. Haven't seen that since Oregon Crusader 2012. Love Virus attack! Great show!

I love this forum and I respect and agree with all comments ... I think the open class as it is now has been overlooked and underrated. Essentially they are feeder corps although they don't like to be viewed that way, but the strengths in these groups are undervalued. They face the same struggles as world-class corps, the same amount of practice but with less funding. They have the same goals to compete and hit the same glass ceilings with the BDB & SCVC. There's also the ones that have aspirations to one day be world-class but where does that leave the field for growth within this already tightly competitive class. I kind of like a third tier as it was called because otherwise it makes the whole system unbalanced.
