  1. Jeff-why don't you consider coming out to Indy next year. I have a 50 yd. line seat for you and I guarantee you will recognize some Friends sitting with you.
  2. I agree. And I can almost hear Chris Stapleton singing now.........Smooth.......Indiana Whiskey I think that is how it goes.
  3. In that case, I hope you are one of us, and consider this YOUR official invite for next year.
  4. Well, we are good friends and enjoy each other's company but notice I did not say I would pay for Terri's Old Fashioned- (but I would have).
  5. Yes, I am Bill Shriner, no, just kidding. What do you mean ? Why do you ask ? I know about the Shriner's organization, but why do you ask that ?
  6. Then here is your official invitation for next year-this year 6 of us drove to Rick's Boatyard Cafe 20 minutes or so from downtown for lunch on Fri. and started with that exact Old Fashioned. We all said it was one of the best ever and what atmosphere. Reminded all of us of a place in Annapolis. Just beautiful. I'm sure we will go again next year.
  7. We are taste testing single malt Scotch today. Smokey Lagavulin right now.
  8. You are correct, plus being 2 nights and decent crowds it all adds up to good Net Profits.
  9. Sorry Terri, I was responding to Jeff. I give up. I am going back to my Happy Hour Party.
  10. You are correct. Because it is a School District Stadium plus everything you said-and goes for 2 nights-it all adds up to great Net Profits. That is the way I heard it from Dan.
  11. I heard the Atlanta Dome costs around $300k.
  12. The MOST profitable when talking Net profits is the was I think I heard it.
  13. I remember Dan A. saying a figure around $300k for Atlanta.
  14. Hold that thought for now. Let's wait until the new schedule comes out. His main point was that the venue this year only cost one third of the Dome. but the crowd at the Dome in the past may speak louder.
  15. From what Dan A. told me at the Friends tailgate I would not bet on a show at the Dome in Atlanta next year. However, I sure hope I am wrong for both of us.
  16. I also wanted to mention that while I had profs pushing Beethoven, Bach, Haydn, and Mozart thank goodness my trumpet prof pushed Bruckner and Mahler.
  17. But back when Wayne Downey was doing the arranging for the BD Brass contras were very prominent. He really liked to start most ballads with a contra intro or lead-in. I still listen to those years shows by BD.
  18. Great point. I was watching a video yesterday from BD featuring a trumpet cam (go pro). Please understand, I mean no disrespect to this member whatsoever-he played his part perfectly, but any trumpet player in our activity could have PLAYED that 3rd trumpet part. Now, could they have marched and bought in to the BD program-possibly not without some experience. I guess more than anything it just surprised me to hear a 3rd trumpet part after seeing and hearing so many videos of top trumpets and soloists. Again, this person played it perfectly which is all the staff was asking when it came to their playing. But it was not hard at all, or very high.
  19. Sam-who does most/all of the music arranging for the Brass.......is it Dave Glyde.
  20. Speaking of Meehan-was he around at all this year? I did not even see him at Finals.
  21. Their schedule for Thursday says you can watch from 10:17 A.M. until 11:30 P.M.
  22. Great point. I sure hope you are correct. If Flo indeed stays on through the announcement of scores then that would include showing Bloo Alumni.
  23. And "bet" is the operative word when talking about Pete Rose. Well said my friend.
