  1. Like I'm sure all the other corps have since early July, CV has definitely improved drastically since Maryland. They looked great in the Georgia Dome two weeks ago, and again in Woodstock last weekend. That said, from talking with staff, etc. they still see plenty of upside left in this show. Going to be an exciting Labor Day weekend! Taking the Woodstock feedback and having 3 weeks to work with it has me hoping they throw up a nice number on the 27th that catches a few people's eyes. :-) And kicks off a great DCA Championships weekend. It's going to be such a pleasure to see all of this live. Last year I watched the broadcast. This year I'll be sitting right there soaking it all in! Can't wait.
  2. While not a big show ( in number of Corps), I'm very interested in the number Atlanta CV puts up on 8/27 a week prior to Finals. There were some obvious improvements left to be addressed after their 84.7 last weekend. Can't wait to get to Rochester and see all these fine corps!
  3. As I mentioned in original post, I bought it in 2015 and thought Prelims and Finals were both very well done. As it is, I have plane tickets for Rochester, Hotel Reservations, and great seats for both Prelims and Finals...nothing will beat the live experience. :-)
  4. My only reference points are Ijamsville ( with C2, FusionCore, and Bucs) in early July, and then last night finally back on a DCA sheet with DCA judges. I think your educated guess may just prove out! We'll know more on 8/27 in Hiram...to be continued!
  5. CV put up a 84.7 last night. And did it in unbelievable heat and humidity. There is still plenty to clean and improve. Looking forward to them making a strong push in Rochester!
  6. I don't think they are going to be at the other Atlanta-based show on 8/27 either...unless I'm mistaken.
  7. Atlanta CV percussion is as hot as a flamethrower.
  8. ...is going to win the caption in Rochester. You heard it here first! :-)
  9. Atlanta CV = 84.75 tonight in Woodstock. Solid run.
  10. I guess that's the same with live streaming? I know physical copies like DVD's are probably more of an issue, but I would have certainly thought that DCA could find a live streaming solution for its Championship. But hey...just a good excuse to jump on a plane... :-)
  11. There were only three DCA corps in Atlanta last weekend at DCI-Southeast which is also a pretty big show. It's not a big deal...it will all work out in the wash. Just curious if it was even an option for Corps to perform for "comments only" when they are not with DCA judges on a DCA sheet. The month of August should sort it all out hopefully. I don't know the seeding rules...if the DCI scores for DCA corps throughout the season aren't averaged in...it really doesn't matter.
  12. Well, I'm glad Delta is ready when I am...onward, ho. But seriously....DCA needs to figure this out!
  13. Have they been scored anywhere else in a DCI show this year? It's strange that some corps get crazy irrelevant scores by participating in DCI shows, and others don't....just curious.
  14. Wow...that's a bummer...I guess I better start checking Delta.
  15. I purchased the Live Stream for prelims and finals last year for the DCA Finals in Rochester. I've google-searched today about 2016 availability and I can't find anything. Too early? Or is there possibly not going to be a Pay Per View option this year.
  16. I agree...and DCI feedback is still good to groom the show. My initial comment was merely to point out that CV is currently in "no mans land" with regards to where they stand in the current DCA scoring status. That will be resolved this weekend. No worries. :-)
  17. Loved reading these reviews! I was at this show myself, and found them to be full of depth and representative of what my eyes saw and ears heard. I had Atlanta CV ahead of Fusion Core...felt like Fusion Core benefited from playing behind Carolina Gold, and that CV possibly had a disadvantage playing right behind Bucs. But that's nit-picking. Great show for how early in the year it was! Would love to see Caballeros, Minnesota Brass, etc. all in one line-up at the beginning of the year at a show like this, but I guess that's a pipe-dream. Again...thanks for the time and effort for the in-depth reviews of each corps!
  18. I saw Atlanta CV in the DCI-South show in Atlanta this weekend, and also saw them a month ago in Ijamsville. They have definitely moved the show in a positive direction in the last month from what was an excellent start in Ijamsville. I guess we'll find out where they "really are" when they get back on a DCA sheet with DCA judges. First time poster...long time lurker.
