I was at both shows and I thought Crown was slightly better last night in Atlanta. Just my opinion.

1st bass drummer. I hope they can tape it up for the next couple of nights. That is a tough hole to have to march. 😕

As usual I made a typo every other word. No mics from the front sideline to the back of the performance area. Keep brass acoustic please. If you need to mic a soloist, put them in front of the front sideline. Nothing is accomplished with wireless mics except bad sound and Where's Waldo for soloists (and lot of other worse things). I like this rule. A lot. If it keeps pit section on the sideline where they belong, so much the better. posted from the DrumScorps app

Maybe put a hard limit on mics allowed on the field to provide for soloists. I think the solution is to limit the number of minutes/seconds that mics can operate in a show. Make them make choices so that we get to hear a good portion of natural sound. If you use 20 seconds of amplification to bump up the tubas here, means 20 less seconds to use on soloist later. I have ideas on how to enforce/penalize people who go over but that is a other thread. posted from the DrumScorps app

What does it mean?

Flow has had 2 nights to figure out how to set mics properly to hear the soloist, and is failing to learn. Really disappointing.

Allentown was the uniform change I think. Definitely not NightBeat, I was there too.

When the announcer asked “Is the Corps ready?”, I wanted the Drum Major to turn around do the “so-so” wave of the hand while shrugging. :)

Vanguard had much more energy then last night. Most of the Corps have, but SCV destroyed everything in 3 city blocks. The people next to me were seeing it for the first time and were showing each other the hair standing up on their arms at the end. posted from the DrumScorps app

No word on that, but I did sit next to a very nice Sprit trumpet player and her dad, she was in a wheelchair with crutches. Apparently she developed a stress fracture last week and her season is done. Really sweet girl. So sad she is having to watch the rest of the season from the stands. posted from the DrumScorps app

I have 2 data points. #1 When I got to the SCV rehersal this morning, there was a lone tuba in the parking lot practicing by himself while everyone else warmed up. #2 During the run throughs there was no hole. Speculate away... posted from the DrumScorps app
