  1. Dear Mandies guard, I love your reverse port rifle catches. Sincerely yours, SG.
  2. I've been in a corps that was carried by the drumline. It happens for lots of reasons and honestly there are much worse things. A strong drumline takes me back to military roots imagery honestly. Love this show by Cavies.
  3. This show is excellent. Just can't help but say how difficult it is to lasso anything with a limp rope. Season's not over yet though. And I guess the show is To Lasso, not We Lasso'd the Sun so boo on me.
  4. That silk is gorgeous but incredibly difficult to clean. Had the same reaction!
  5. I think my real beef with this show is that the members are clearly so talented, the designers so mature... I just wish they'd turn their creativity to something more interesting than an alcoholic beverage. Last year was so classy and meaningful.... This is another one I just have to forget the theme and enjoy the sound and colors. Easy peasy.
  6. Yes, if I let go of the theme, I really enjoy this show. The unis do it for me too cause they look good on every body. (Not much diversity of body types that I could see but I won't go there.)
  7. What a breath of fresh air this comment is. Thank you thank you thank you! Can't be amped enough! I also specialize in such work and have much lived experience. Representation matters so much!
  8. That lady contra in PC counts as a goddess in my book! 🫢🏽
  9. Love the finished upstage props, SoA! And I love how those closer flags move.
  10. Indeed, the effect is still impactful and totally supports the show theme even at lower speeds. πŸ™‚πŸ™ƒ Or did she?
  11. If you want to keep your spot, you better not show signs of dizziness. I didn't show ill effects from what I was asked to do, and most don't cause they wanna keep marching. Or, Mandies did the testing and it's harmless. πŸ‘πŸ½ I'm just asking for quantifiable data is all, cause you can't get informed consent without it. So far, we've only got the qualitative evidence which is important but not the whole picture.
  12. Indeed, I've commented similarly about their obvious overall care for wellness and safety. Nonetheless, only a g-force reading could confirm that no lasting damage is being done, or if the gs are high and those members in the props need, perhaps, to not be immediately marching right after they are spinnermen (if that's what's happening.) I'd simply like to know if that's been done, and if so, what the reading was. If it's under 5 gs, excellent, it's like riding a rollercoaster. The info would be cool to compare to rides out in the world. πŸ™ƒ Asking for corps to prove their safety practices with quantifiable, measurable metrics is not the same as attacking their safety records. It's telling them to prove it. That's what large granting foundations need to see too. Edit to add: Also, shouldn't be a big deal when there's an app for that: https://www.amazon.com/Miodne-Projects-Accelerometer-g-force-meter/dp/B00S2X0N9K
  13. I would like a g force reading on that thing. Anything over 5gs (which is top gs for rollercoasters) requieres specific training to begin to be safe and sustainable. Anyone know what this bad boy does? Are Mandies tracking that? Safety first. πŸ‘πŸ½
  14. Designs can't get better if orgs keep recycling the same designers with tired ideas. And no designer can keep popping out hits forever, especially if they don't integrate exposure to sports and artforms from outside of drum corps, nor welcome in new minds. Same goes for instruction. Myron Rosander attended local dance performances for a reason.
