  1. Crown already broke 95 Saturday night. They will break 96 pulling away from Boston and Bloo creating a clear divide going into prelims. Also Boston will lose guard tonight to Crown, predicting this upset first.
  2. It’s still a strong possibility for Crown to end on top this week. The show seems to be cleaning up a ton and the audience seems to be buying in more and more. (I hear it’s even better live than on Flo). I have a feeling that the judges will have a hard time ignoring the reaction they will get come Saturday night. Predictions to Victory: GE : Second to BD, still need to close the gap on BD a few more tenths. But second will do. VP : First overall, based on their content and demand of Jeff Sacktig drill, with their high achieving color guard and how well the horns and drums have been cleaning up. VA : Second to BD, I feel that BD will take this one at the end of the day but will be extremely close. 1-2 tenth spread. CG : First overall, This is my upset prediction. It seems they are doing all the tricks that everyone else does and does them more consistently. Trending upward. Will be within a tenth of Boston. Brass : First overall, I mean does there need an explanation? I appreciate the fact that they do not mic every other person on the field. (Only their soloist, or at least that’s what I see and hear). MA : First overall, But will be within a tenth. There is a lot of good musical books from so many groups so will come down to execution and energy. Perc : Fourth overall, There are a ton of great lines this year, the key will be to limit the spread to as little as possible.
  3. I think their apple should be bigger…. It’s hard to see.
  4. Hoping for the weather to clear out tonight, want to watch on Flo tonight! Based off last nights run and recap I think Crown Guard has a strong potential to catch Bostons Guard. I love the high execution and wide variety they demonstrate. Boston seems like they do the same effects on repeat.
  5. Only adjustment I would make would be Bluecoats in 3rd and Boston in 4th.
  6. Won’t happen. Don’t be a 50% fan. Be all in!
  7. Hoping to see a full sweep of all captions against Boston tonight. The way it should have been last week!
  8. Just to clarify, Crown was going to score an 84.25 and sweep all captions tonight if the weather didn’t take them out.
  9. Fingers Crossed! Want to see the drums and guard close the gap from last night. (Totally think its possible).
  10. Hoping the weather holds out for tonight’s performance! Would love to watch on FLO again!
  11. Thoughts on Crown after watching tonight on Flo. GE - They need to keep cleaning (as I’m sure they already are) but I don’t think anyone will come close to them. It feels like a party on the field! Visual - Glad to see them improved from past seasons. Seems as this element of their process is beginning to click. Music - The brass, drums, and overall sound design are in a different league than everyone else. They sound mature. Special Thoughts; Crown Guard - After looking at the recap, I’m a little confused. I have to assume content is more than just one element of the show. Boston for example features their weapons more than anything else in the show, I bring this up because if a horn line only featured lets say the trumpet section for 80% of the show, they would be lacking a great deal in the content area. Just seems strange one would get credit for not demonstrating content across their specific sections. Crown Drums - Same content conversation applies here. Crown seems to be right here, right there, right up front, right in the middle, right everywhere when they are needed. Boston seems to only have limited number of features giving less opportunity to demonstrate content.
  12. You’re welcome! Glad I could provide some warning.
  13. It’s going to be hard to go on right before Crown, especially with Crown having no weak sections and a really unique show…
  14. I have now seen every video out there and I am proud to say that everyone else's show is either dated or boring. Crown for the win! Hoping for a full sweep tonight!
  15. Reposting as tonight continues the undefeated season.
  16. I have no issue with the performer or quality of musicianship. I think it just last to long and doesn’t work from a pacing standpoint. It’s a clear design flaw.
  17. I think today starts an undefeated season for Crown. I will be rooting for them while watching FloMarching!
  18. I’m glad we agree a euphonium is not a new instrument. Never asked about it either, just stated it was a pacing issue and may need a revision. For the record, I don’t think its novel at all.
  19. Well that was a lot… It’s still underwhelming. I see in my crystal ball some revisions on the horizon.
  20. BD’s rehearsals may be highly productive, but having a group of basically all new performers that haven’t toured since 2019 has to slow down the process some. After seeing some other programs I am not sure they have enough time to stay in the top 2. They have proved me wrong before and may do it again but I have to believe them not touring last season will put a different learning curve to this season.
  21. New instrumentation and they choose a euphonium? They should of used a keytar like Bluecoats! All jokes aside, it does seem like a pacing issue as of right now. (I’m sure it will continued to be developed over time) but also may need some serious revisions by the design team.
  22. Thats it! Interesting to see them do such a similar show concept that got 7th that year and expect a higher result. But what do I know? I wish them the best, and will hope they surprise me in person.
  23. Didn’t Boston already do this show concept in the past?
