They don't know how to just let it be. -

Do you watch high cam? There are whale tail drill forms that appear throughout the entire show, and there's a guard member dressed in white who I'm assuming represents the whale. -

Assuming this is about BAC for the LaCrosse show, but point well-taken. 🙂 -

And now that I wrote that, that last mello sustain was the most locked in I've heard it all season. -

As good as BAC is, every mello sustain I've heard from them this season has never quite locked in (and a couple times it was shockingly bad). It's surprising that Gino would let that happen more than once. -

Haha wow...corps have been stepping into the pit since the early 90s! -

Their tarps frame the field in a way that offsets their whole setup. It makes a lot more sense when the tarps are there. -

I also appreciate that the tarps make the pit offset make sense. -

Huh, no tarps tonight. Too windy? -

Oh okay, good. They swapped order for Freelancers Alum and Impulse. That couldn't have been correct on the original schedule. -
Which--very cool--WILL be on Flo!

Rather than barreling straight through to the last note and cut-off, they now do a sudden tempo change, hit their last chord but then quickly decrescendo so that the Nina Simone sample can be heard one last time with a new chord change underneath it, then they crescendo back to their open 5th chord to finish. It's a fairly minor change to anyone not overly familiar with the show. -

Oh, I was wondering if SCV’s absence would negatively affect turnout, especially since Stanford had become the combined BD/SCV “home” show. -

Yep. Whether or not I like the Siri-like narration (which I don't think I do), it makes the show concept make a LOT more sense. On Friday, the show seemed way more disjointed with NOTHING trying to thread the song selections together. -

I'm also not sure why the schedule has Freelancers Alumni Corps going on AFTER Impulse (in the middle of the Open Class block). 🤔 -

CorpsClash - A spiritual successor to DrumScorps
brassboy replied to CorpsClash's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Thanks for filling the DrumScorps void with this! So far it seems to be working pretty great. Two things that I would love to see changed/fixed: contest results currently combine World and Open class into one result (e.g. Gold listed in 6th place among all corps at Rose Bowl vs. 1st place in Open); and the recaps are listed in reverse order of appearance as opposed to order of final placement. -
