They’re clearly very good, but that show mostly leaves me flat. Maybe it’ll grow on me. -

My OCD is struggling with Blue Stars’ asymmetric placement of their front DM podiums. -

Crossmen have such a distinct sound to their arrangements. That was fun! -

This is a huge step up in performance from all of the previous corps. -

Sorry, but I definitely see this show potentially beating Spirit. I haven’t seen Crossmen yet. -

They’re pretty dirty out of the gate, but so far I’d say that with this show Phantom won’t be easily relinquishing a Top 12 spot. -

I think Spirit presented themselves as more mature and a little more polished than Colts, which should keep them ahead. At least for now. -

I believe they can go 2 yards (about 3 steps) past the front sideline. -

Spirit’s robes kind of remind me of Mandarins’ guard costumes from Inside the Ink. I think it’s the material. -

Well, that show (and that performance) isn’t likely going to impress judges, but I thought it was pretty darn fun to listen to. posted from the DrumScorps app -

Probably no T&P judge for a local show, and especially this early. If this were a regional it would be very bad for them. -

Again? I think someone just said that their electronics went out halfway through their first performance the other night. -
Lets talk about the Mandarins

Yes, Mario Ramirez (their creative director) is the founder/director/designer for Diamante (which earned the bronze medal in WGI World Class this past season). So between his creative direction and Ike Jackson's program direction, Mandarins have really snagged themselves a powerful duo. -

I think bingo has been a lot less lucrative in the past decade or so as more and more casinos get approved. I think a lot of smart business decisions have been made thanks to Jim Tabuchi and his BOD. -

No, yesterday Mandarins started their pre-show based on the timing judge. Then it was pointed out that the timing judge's watch was 4 minutes fast. -

Given that show order prior to San Antonio is based on random draws within groups of 3 based on last year's final placement, that makes sense. Academy was in the 13-15 group, while Troopers were in the 16-18 group. -

Not true. I believe Flo since last year has added two lower stand mics that they move to place in front of corps' speakers. Last year corps were asked to fill out a little one-sheet that indicated which speakers (if they had more than two stacks) Flo should place the mics in front of. The problem is I don't think they have anyone monitoring the levels in real time to help them adjust. -

And remember that Mario Ramirez' Diamante is fresh off of a bronze medal in Independent World at WGI this year, and the majority of that show was all members on rifle. -
