  1. Ok even I almost passed out when Les Blanc Chevalier (my regular division II corps) was just tenths off taking the show and beat my Div I corps!!! What a show these kids have and what power that put into it tonight. Maybe a division II title is in the works??? Maybe a jump in divisions??? The power of Trans Syberian Orcestra--who knew!!! The Knights have struggled connecting with this show concept as its a 180 to most of the original work they did last season...however, once it clicks, look out--I remember seeing shows this early on that I said it just lacked emotion and couldnt win, then came tenths off from first place! SUNRISE SURF EASY MUSIC!!!! I wrote the music myself! I guarantee you, it would never be easy to play something I wrote! lol This show really speaks volume to who the corps is--so look for it to catch on as the season gets underway! THANKS FOR A GREAT SHOW MATT! The Lobster Classic will likely be a 180 as we have northeastern judges vs southern...you know the northeast always starts with inflated scores! GOOD LUCK ALL
  2. well of course thats what the locals call it--and as for the price--well this is the biggest thing to happen in Maine since Bessy jumped ova her fence and ended up on the tuuurnpike...they will pay the dough

  5. I have to say I am thrilled! Congrats to everyone that had so much to do with this. I am so glad that all of CLASS was able to make the transition over from FDCI to DCPF and just so happy to be a part of this new world! We have really taken a step up!
  6. Oh that made me laugh so much I had to spell it out instead of doing LOL! :sshh: You never know what those southerners will eat! http://www.pappywishbone.com/index.php?products_id=62
  7. We are looking to flying the entire CLASS group for this and then Sunset Sound will join us on the flight back for the Lobster Classic. A southern meal and then lobster--a full week of eatin good! Look for the Knights--Sunrise Surf--Les Blanc Chevalier--Sunset Sound--Cape Cod Regiment to all be there!
  8. Hey the Knights ALMOST made finals! LOL as for the other corps, well were looking at firing the directors if they perform like that again! No stress here baby--its all good--were having just as much fun as you!
  9. Lets ROCK the fantasy marching arts world!
  10. and yet two things seem to not be on there---winning a title and being FIRST in Georgia! We will see you at this Peach Cobbler Classic and would love to kick your butt again at the Lobster Classic Invitational, where our other sister NON-Northeastern corps Sunrise Surf (Carmel CA-likely moving to San Diego) will also be in attendance.
  11. Sunset Sound welcomes the upstart corps to OUR home state of Georgia (Sunset Sound has been a division II corps from Savannah Georgia since about 1998) and instead of being insulted at your "it was only time--that a corps would show up!" and taking your newbie butt out to the good ole southern wood shed, we will instead play especially hard on the field in our show "Ray-The music of Ray Charles" including a louder version of Georgia then yours! Too bad your not in Division II or the line would have been drawn!
  12. CLASS has officially moved the Corps League Association for Superior Sound Championship back to Montreal after the much needed change to the season’s schedule. We at CLASS felt that with the New Years Day Lobster Classic going on in Maine that the CLASS Championship could and should be moved back to Montreal on 2/3/07. We will still have our scheduled show in Maine on 2/1/07 which will now serve much like a CLASS Championship Preview. We want to make sure these changes were clear before people start setting their schedules for the upcoming season! So take on CLASS! Mark your calendar for February 3rd 2007 The CLASS Championships in Montreal hosted once again by Les Blanc Chevalier and the corps of CLASS!
  13. The CLASS Group of corps has decided to still hold a show, festival and parade to celebrate 2007 to further push the activity in Maine! Portland Maine will still be the host location, home of the Portland Seadogs! We will still be serving fresh Maine lobster to all the winners! With the new changes in the schedule, maybe this will allow even more corps to attend! Here is what I will need if you plan on attending: Junior corps captions: Effect Visual: Effect Music: Visual Performance: Visual Ensemble: Visual Colorguard: Music Brass: Music Ensemble: Music Percussion: we will use the same values: Value. 14. I have voted yes as I am in full agreement with the needed changes. Does this mean that if we have already submited captions they will stand unless we find some tweeking we need?
  15. Nice Matt--you have CLASS full support! Let us know if we can do anything to assist!
  16. The majority of corps in CLASS have now finalized show music for this seasons competition. In Division I The Knights (as previously announced) will do Doctor Zhivago, music as follows: Doctor Zhivago by Maurice Jarre Overture-Main Title Funeral Song Komarovsky With Lara In The Hotel/Interior Student Cafe Military Parade/They Began To Go Home/After Deserters Killed The Colonel/At The Hospital Lara Says Goodbye To Yuri/Tonya Greets Yuri Evening Bells-Moscow Station Flags Flying Over The Train/Yuri Gazing Through A Tiny Open Hatch Intermission Yuri Follows The Sound Of The Waterfall/ Varykino Cottage, Winter Snow/Yuri And The Daffodils In Lara's Bedroom-played completely by sideline percussion Yuri Is Taken Prisoner By The Red Parisans Yuri Is Trying To Write/Yuri Frightens The Wolves Away Then It's A Gift (End Title) Sunrise Surf Sol Invictus ("the undefeated Sun") Sol Invictus-Sunrise in Acadia-original music by Gary Currier-this piece gives tribute to the first land that sees the sunrise in the United States in the composers home state of Maine on Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. [/i]Sunrise[/i]-Nora Jones and Here Comes the Sun/I'll Follow the Sun-Beatles-sends a slightly different direction as we now slide across the east coast headed toward the great lakes and show the effects that the sun has on our culture even through music and emotion. We begin to see the sun sparkle on the water of the lakes as Sol Invictus returns with Shimmer on the Greats. drumline soundtrack-snare solo-shows one drummer earlier in the morning sun alone practicing for his big day. we move back to Sol Invictus now reaching the farm lands of the midwest and the music takes more of a hard working struggle of the farmers out under the hot sun, but thankful for its power to deliver them strong and healthy crops in Maze. The House of the Rising Sun/Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me-starts to bring us to sunset across America and leads us into Sol Invictus-The Pacifc which at the end turns to Rise Again as the sun promises in its beautiful splendor of red sunset to rise once again on America and out comes our drummer who has now reached his big show and concludes the performance. Division II Les Blanc Chevalier The Music of the Trans Siberian Orchestra "A season with an edge" Nutcracker Suite/Mad Russian Christmas Carol of the Bells/O Come all Ye Faithful/O Christmas Tree Wizards of Winter/Appalachian Snowfall/Siberian Sleigh Ride Celtic Trance Midnight Christmas Eve Christmas Canon in D Remember/Boughs of Holly/Joy to The World Sunset Sound Ray-The Music of Ray Charles What'd I say-starts the show off with a beat of a percussion feature as the corps gets into their starting positions, then the brass picks up the tune as we see we will be going through some true Ray Charles music. I Can't stop Loving You gives us a look at the more romantic and spiritual sound of much of Ray's music which rolls right into You Are My Sunshine and Here we Go Again and finish with You Don't Know Me. Georgia On My Mind, America The Beautiful and Amazing Grace-show the american tribute of Ray. Twist it, Shake it --Night Time is The Right Time-as the color guard features a lot fo dance moves. You'll Never Walk Alone-keeps the the emtional high of the song and adds a very jazzy beat and style to it as well. The show has a sort of fake ending at this point--as the corps starts to leave the field, they begin to play Baby, Its Cold Outside-a duet Ray did with Nina Simone. The corps continues to head to the exit of the field leaving two soloist and two solo dancers as the corps heads up the tunnel out of the stadium. Division III Cape Cod Regiment The Color Purple-A new Musical including from the movie Speak Lord/God is Trying to Tell you Something we hope you all enjoy our various musical journeys from a variety of different genres!
  17. I'd be honored to be Grand Marshall for the East Region Parade! Nobody does a part like New York! BRING ON THE BIG APPLE!
  18. Oh ya--after seeing "Movin Out" I am really perplexed wiht what they coudl do visually! LOL COME ON! I am nto even a Cavies fan and I think they can take their visual style and mix it very well wiht this music--different means, I might enjoy it like last year!
  19. The Knights are pleased to announce their show for the new season will be, "Doctor Zhivago". Executive Director Gary Currier stated that show concepts have been tossed around a lot after the slow first season with DCP, but they are confident with the shows emotional appeal and strong talent of a largely veteran corps, this show will be one of the best of the Knights long history of quality shows. Currier said that he has wanted to do Doctor Zhivago for a long time (since he was in high school actually) and is very excited to finally be able to put the show in place. The corps will return to the original White Knight uniforms as the staff felt the all white would add to the romance and feel of the show. The guard outfits will have a very traditional Russian motif and the program will include lots of dance and interpretation from the movie. Musical selections will also include hints at Zhivago the Musical as well as Pictures at an Exhibition. Currier also addressed concerns that the Knights football team, which appears to be playoff bound, would have priority over the corps. The football team will only be allowed to use the field turf when the corps is not performing or practicing and the football team will practice in the parking lot during those times (OUCH). We hope all you all enjoy our interpretation of Doctor Zhivago. For information on the film, please go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Zhivago_%281965_film%29
  20. hey if you win your show that night maybe we can send you some lobster rolls from the left overs! Sorry I didn't get the announcment out sooner, but I was busy working on my flop of a fanatsy marching band--the Marching Knights--I think they beat two bands...I hope the mood doesnt carry over to our DCP tour!
  21. We knew several corps would not be able to attend due to schedule conflicts and European Tours, so we are using the big screens to show highlights from other shows around the world during intermission and between corps! All divisions are welcome to join the show. Best of luck on tour!
  22. The CLASS Championships have been set early this year for January 1 in Portland ME! The Knights are thrilled to be hosting their first CLASS Championships which are normally held in Montreal. If you haven't signed up for this event, please join us in attending for fun, food and of course some serious drum corps! The CLASS Championships has grown to an extremely competitive event over the years. This year the fun begins early as midnight will be the kick off to the New Year with fireworks and a parade open to all drum corps participants in the evening’s competition. As has become tradition at both CLASS Championships and Finals, the Knights will be serving up fresh, live Maine lobster to each divisional winner. This has earned the Championship the nick name Lobstah Classic! Please consider joining us in the competitive and yet friendly event that welcomes all!
