  1. Glad to hear you think they are improving. The show is tough but they are a talented group.
  2. Not sure where I posted it earlier in the season but tonights score in TN is exactly what I have been looking for since seening the show 4 times in a row on the AZ-CA tour swing. Just like 06 this is a story show that will only grow better as they close in on finals. I am pretty sure that when I go to the quarterfinals broadcast I will be seeing something very different than what I saw in early July. Also, it seems to me that when you tell a story with a show the GE scores sometimes are the last thing to fall into place as the Corps gain experience selling the story to the audience and judges. I am starting to get a good feeling about what will happen with Spartacus!!!
  3. Can't wait for the Recaps to go up!!!! Wonder what Phantom did to jump up. It has to be in Visual and GE since they are beginning to dominate in the Music Caps. Wonder if the Guard is also making a move up?
  4. What an amazing push ahead of Crown and Cadets for Phantom!!! Can they pass Cavies in Atlanta
  5. OK so we have about an hour before scores. I am curious how the Cadets-Phantom-Crown cluster will shake out over the next two nights.
  6. So, did the show start or was there a rain delay?
  7. This is going to be hard for me because the scores will go up while I am seeing Batman again tonight. Maybe I can slip out around 8PM my time and check the scores. I can't wait to see hoe the Troopers and Academy stack up.my source in The Academy was petty stoked about last night. I hope they keep the Mo flowing.
  8. Phantom will be on soon!!! Let's raise a glass! Tonight's drink will be Vino Verde maybe later while waiting for scores I'll break out the cocktails.
  9. OK, I just goy back from seeing Mama Mia since I don't have my Fan Network subscription yet. How is everyone doing so far. Think we will see see scores in about 45 minutes?
  10. I always thought the SOD was like winning Miss Congeniality. You know, the girl everyone likes but isn't good enough to win.
  11. It is getting a bit late and I am bored with no shows tonight so I came up with this crazy thread. I realize this might have been done in the past but this will not be the first or last topic to repeat over the years. The idea is for those of us who never took the leap to march with a corps or those without the talent but maybe just the desire to make up a fantasy version of how we might have participated in the activity. SteenAZ Version #1 Growing up near Rockford and seeing my first show when I was around 10 I imagine I would have dreamed of marching with PR. In Jr. High I played percussion, mostly mallets and bass drum. Being rather ambitious I might have gone for the PR Cadets (anyone remember them?) to get experience close to home. Once I got to high school I switched to playing tuba but was not very good so I am thinking that in the summer I would have stayed with percussion and maybe moved up to the Knights a good local corps from the Quad Cities area by the 1983 season and stayed through 1984. Again being ambitious I might have tried to move up to one of the three powerhouse corps in the area with PR or the Scouts being the likely candidates. I think the home team would have won and I would have gone into PR in the pit starting in the 1985 season. Not sure what the exact rule was at the time but I think my age out year would have been 1988. These were not the strongest years for PR but I am sure I would have loved the experience. Stay tuned for another version maybe where I become the PR Drum Major or something extra cool like I skip around to different corps based on shows I love. Maybe there can be one where I learn to dance and march in the Cavies or Scouts Guards (that would have been dangerous ) Is this stupid? If not then please share your fantasy past.
  12. Anyone know what time the show ends so we can add an hour before we expect scores?
  13. Well I don't know about you but I am breaking out the cocktail again.
  14. Thanks for the info, I think they would have been a little more back in the groove tonight.
  15. So no good predictions? I say The Academy closes the gap to within half a point of the Scouts.
  16. Great score tonight. I had a feeling they would make a nice jump becasue when I turned on my Sirius radio coming home they were playing Wagner on the Pops channel and Debusy on Classical. I love crazy signs.
  17. Not that it matters but to anyone who was at the dress rehersal on Friday night in Tempe I predicted a 5 point jump. I wish there were witnesses who post on DCP. Stanford 7/5 - 68.8 Alb. 7/14 - 73.7 Pretty close!!! I am so proud of them
  18. The Academy made a nice move IMO. If they can work on getting the GE scores up we can start making some nice moves up the score ladder. The guard made over a point gain from the last performance and the music scores are stacking up well against the pack. I can't wait for San Antonio!!!
