  1. No doubt! My prediction is that Cadets will take these next 6 days to put on a sick ending that will solidify this show as the winner. There are some red truly wonderful shows this year, and I believe Cadets will be the leader this year. And all shows should have an encore. ;)
  2. No, I don't think that. In fact, I think just the opposite. I will agree that if you do it every night, like frankly my corps did most of the summer, it gets to be a drag. But when they trade off nights, it's a rush to be loved again by the crowd up close, and high school kids who come to the show are inspired. Even when we did our 20th, not again, please shoot me, encore, I recalled how I felt as a high school kid to especially hear an outstanding horn line in my face. But again, when the groups trade off, and no one has to do it all that often, it becomes another great part of the experience. Most of them really did choose to do this because they like performing. And seriously, how much more time are we talking here? It's not like I'm advocating for old school retreat. They'll still be out of the lot much sooner than the old days anyway. IMHO, I believe it to be a win win for all.
  3. I'm actually at home. But pardon me for having an opinion on an internet forum. lol
  4. That's actually in the neighbourhood of what I thought. They are wonderful, but I thought there were some pretty clear issues with form control and brass cleanliness. But those bass drums. Amazing!
  5. I know I'm either preaching to the choir or to the ambivalent, but I feel strongly about this, and I say it everywhere I can.
  6. I'm going to continue complaining about this. Without the encore, the experience is cheapened. For the price of today's tickets, it's simply unacceptable.
  7. That show is just wonderful. Bass drums are ridiculously good!
  8. What a wonderful arrangement of Send in the Clowns. Gorgeous!
  9. Let's hope the cameras don't focus too much on the "acts" I half expect them to overlay a star onto a pink elephant.
  10. I saw this Phantom show 2 weeks ago in Stanford, and I love it even more now.
  11. Congratulations to my students Jack and Heather on a great show with Colts!
  12. I like this show so much more than last year. They do need to work on making the miced stuff more integrated into the mix. It's not just too loud. Needs a better mix.
  13. I love the Pioneer show! Nice change of direction for them.
  14. Great job Music City! Congratulations to my student Tori and my old college buddy David Boggs on a great show!
