Just back from Hudson NY, the corps was treated to the best hospitality a town can give. With six days to go the test drive is over the corps is firing on all cylinders, we can’t wait to start the engine.

One of the best parades we get to march each year. Stop by the high school football field either before or after the parade and check out the Caballeros getting ready for the 2009 DCA season.

All of the corps are in getting ready for the last full camp weekend so they will be ready for the DCA opener. Yes that's right Cabs at the Beach is only 9 days away.

It is a sad day for the drum corps world, Bruce was one of the good guys. He always had a smile and a hug for you when he saw you. Bruce was my Google Map Guru he saved my ### by showing me how to check out practice fields on line. The entire Hawthorne Caballeros organization is sadden by the passing of Bruce and wish to extend our condolences to the McCready and the Brigadier Family. RIP my friend

Don’t blame the economy on any perceived problems with our activity. Recruiting is just deferent than it was years ago. As all age corps we have to understand that the corps is becoming younger and younger every year. This changes the winter programs because we don’t really see all of our members all the time during the winter. It does take us longer to fill our ranks because of school commetments. If you give your members a way to work off their dues and keep the dues within reason the all age activity is the best value for your dollar. As contest goes there are contests running every weekend and if you want to compete you can find a contest within striking distance. The Cabs believe we practice to compete and we will do everything in our power to give our members the opportunity to compete every weekend. This year we have nine contests not including championship weekend and we even give our members a week off for vacation. The state of our activity is strong and will continue to grow.

Thom We can't wait to get the Halls of Wildwood High buzzing this Friday night. Our older brothers & sisters can really rock the house in a grand way. I am amazed at the talent of the competing corps this year, if we had all of the musicians we have now in the line back in the 70’s 80’s & 90’s who knows how many titles we might have won. We can’t wait to get this show on Maxwell Field, see you this weekend. BTW Do you know we have only 40 days until Cabs at the Beach, get your tickets now

BUT I will 44 Days Cabs at the Beach I just got back from Cape May for my 30th Anniversary and I am happy to report that Wildwood is still right next door. I saw Mayor Ernie on Monday and he is getting ready for drum corps season. If you are in the area we will be holding a Camp weekend in Wildwood May 15th, 16th & 17th.

Chris it's nice to see you were really in Wildwood working, and not blowing off practice in Hawthorne. You missed a great weekend (maybe a little wet) but we have 1/2 the show on the field. Next weekend in Hawthorne is going to be great, still need to fill that one brass spot and a few pit members are still needed to round out the section. I missed you by one day in Wildwood (Cape May) I met with Mayor Ernie today and Wildwood Camp weekend May 15th 16th & 17th is all set, I can't wait to get this show on Maxwell Field.
